Are they really making these things in China now? I thought Starrett was never going to do that.

My wife ordered these for me as a gift. There were two problems with the order. The original sticker on the end of the box (which says CHINA), was overlaid with another sticker that doesn't indicate the country of origin. As stated in another response, there is no indication on the plastic, nor the calipers themselves which state they are made in China. Additionally, the sticker on the box says 1202-6, +/-0.001" Accuracy, 0.001 Resolution. However, what was actually provided in the case was 1202F-6 calipers which have 1/64" graduations on the dial. The dial has a yellow outside band with 1/64 graduations, and a white center with .01 graduations.

I bought this for my son who was going to school. What is the warranty on this item or who do I need to talk to about a warranty?

I dont know about the warrenty.. I would think contact starrett.. but maybe amazon, since this is where we bought it...

Are these made in America or china? My company is looking to purchase 3 dozen units but I will not risk my reputation if they are made in China.

There is no place of manufacture stamped or written on the caliper or on the case. Starret has manufacturing facilities in Brazil, UK, China and the U S. I suggest you send them an email with your question, cheers
