Great fishing net.... Fly fishing for trout/small mouth bass. Really good price/performance value.
Excellent net! I've used this for trout and small mouth bass fly fishing. It's now my go-to net. I bought the rectangle one.Info:- It's made of a blue, light weight aluminum and has a small patterned rubber net.(the largest holes across the bottom of the net are about 1/2 inch across. The side holes are slightly smaller) I've had 6-20 inch trout and 9-15 inch small mouth bass in it. I haven't had a hook catch the net and the rubber is smooth on the fish. The handle is made of a firm but soft textured foam which is super easy to grab when wet. It has an internal bungee cord attached to the small carabiner clip.(I don't see it much because the coil cable/magnet setup I have does most of the stretching. But, it's there in the handle.)Dimensions:- Black handle: 6.5 inches- Top of handle to top of blue net: 17 inches- Width: 6.5 inches by the handle and 9 inches by the top (It's not quite symmetrical. More narrow by the handle)- Depth of net: approximately 8 inches- Overall length: 23.5 inchesConclusion: This net is close to perfect for fly fishing with a net on your back for small to mid size fish in river/streams. I've had a 20 inch brown trout in it with two or three inches left over on each side. It fits great on my back, feels small and out of the way with virtually no drag in deeper, slow currents. It's much lighter than the wooden net I had before, and for less money (but probably not as light as carbon fiber nets of the same size). I've zip tied the top magnet so the handle hangs down which makes it easy to pull. For $25, it beats most of the nets out there and is a great value. Thumbs up!

Works great, I really like it.
I like the blue anodized finish. Size is nice, not huge, not tiny, just right for trout and small to average bass. Wish the mesh was smaller in the bottom, but maybe that is more of an aesthetic than a practical concern. Overall, I really like it. I have had wooden nets in the past and wanted to try something different. I have had the catch and release fabric bag in the past, this will be the first time I have had the rubber mesh bag. The rubber does not hang as loosely as a fabric or woven net, but that shouldn't really be a problem.UPDATE: 2024, I have landed many fish with this net this year; a big pickerel, smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, sunfish, perch, 2 brown trout, and a big shiner (I think). I actually like this net better than fancy wood nets that I have had in the past. The anodized blue is quite nice looking. The black foam grip is very functional, providing good grip wet or dry. The rubber netting is way better than the tightly woven catch and release fabric nets. The rubber nets don't catch hooks, don't catch on trail side brush like cloth nets, and perhaps best of all, they clean easily and dry quickly and do not retain odors. I am considering getting the rectangular model as well. The concerns I had with mesh size were unfounded, the net works well.

Perfect little trout net
This net is perfect, it lays on my sling out of the way until needed. I like that it doesn't get caught up in the underbrush too often. The best feature though, is the rubber band tether in the handle! Really a great net for me.
