It's very weird, we joke about the "mother ship" coming to take us home every time we use it but this crazy thing works. I would get hair splinters in my feet after every haircut session (1 grown man, 1 teenager, 1 toddler), and we would have to lock the dogs away so they didn't disperse hair everywhere. This works best on grown men but it still helps with the toddler. One unexpected benefit is that the boys can stand up to check their haircut in the bathroom mirror without leaving a trail of hair in their path. Then when the haircut is complete they can walk out to the back yard, take it off, shake it out, and it's ready for the next guy. I also found that it holds the comb and scissors nicely when I switch over to the electric clippers.

I have been cutting my husband's and kids' hair forever and a nice hair-cutting cape is a necessity. I was trying this one because in the Summer I cut their hair on the back porch so I can just blow the hair off with a leaf blower instead of sweeping or vacuuming it like a haircut in the bathroom. Plus, it is much nicer to be outside. Well, those long black plastic hair-cutting capes will cause the guys to sweat like they are in a sauna and if you dare take a bit too long cutting their hair outside on a nice Summer day, they will start whining and crying like freakin' little girls who lost their Barbie's prom handbag. So, this cape works better than a long one because the lip thing catches a bunch of the hair before it hits the ground and the guys do not get as hot and sweaty because it is significantly shorter. Now.... will my husband use the darn thing while trimming his beard so he won't spray coarse thick, beard-hair bits all about the bathroom vanity and sink? Nope.... of course not, but it may just be a matter of whacking him about the head and shoulders with a thick towel a couple more times.

This has save me a ton of clean up whenever cutting my husband’s hair. It is a little bit awkward to get used to, but it works great once you figure it out.

This product does work well for catching hair. It is a little smaller than I expected. I don't like that they use Velcro for the neck closure. The cut hairs tend to get caught in the velcro. Maybe they could make some with a few snaps for closures to adjust for different neck sizes. And they won't get cut hair caught in it like the velcro.

Really beats sweeping all the hair up off the floor

It works ok for its intended use. When I use it it definitely doesn't come down that far like the picture shows. It rests on my shoulders so the amount of area there is to catch the hair is lessened. But it does help.
