The Praxis Series Official Guide, Second Edition: PPST® Pre-Professional Skills Test (The Official Guide) 2nd Edition

If you are taking the Praxis I tests, you really should study from this book. It's from the company that makes the test, so it explains how the test is designed. Once you've done enough practice, you don't have to waste time during the exam reading instructions and such.This guide has three practice tests (reading, math, & writing), which, unfortunately, are the exact same ones on the included CD-ROM. I was hoping for more practice, but alas, that's all it came with. Nevertheless, I do highly recommend it, though I strongly encourage you to use it in conjunction with the Kaplan review as well, if not others. It even comes with a complete list of all the possible essay questions for the Praxis I: Writing exam. Good luck!

I have been out of school for awhile and needed to take the Praxis tests. This book really helped me review the contents of the test. I went through the book at a glance and then took the test on the DVD. It helped a lot! The DVD allows for timed or untimed tests and that gives a much more accurate idea of what your time limit will be on the day of the actual test. Any questions that are missed are explained further so I had an idea about what I needed to study more. I would recommend this book to anyone needing to take the tests, especially untraditional type students.

As someone who plans to take the Praxis exam fairly soon, I was pleased with the book. Helpful tips, excellent answer explanations, and reading clarity.I was disappointed by the solo test, but its understandable. I used it as a before and after test: took one test before I read the book, and again after to test my skills. Amazing improvement.

The Reading Section was great, but now that I'm studying in the Math Section and have had to correct 2 errors in it in order to get the actual answer, I find myself wondering - "If this Guide is written by the SAME people who make the Praxis Exam itself... then who is making certain that THEIR Test Answers are actually correct which OUR correct answers will be graded against...?" Errors found so far are on Page 60 in Percent Change section and on Page 63 in Algebraic Representation section. How confident would such errors make YOU about taking the Praxis Exam itself?

The Praxis Guide did a good job at generally covering the materials on a Praxis 1 test. It was very informative and the allowance of CD TOM software makes it even easier to use. I would like it better if the study guide would only cover the Praxis 2 exam the PLT more specifically and include more test examples.

I am currently a senior in college majoring in Elementary Education. I used this book to study for both praxis one and praxis two and am happy to say I passed both! The cd included with the book allows you to take practice tests and the book also offers paper practice questions. I also enjoyed all of the praxis tips. I think that this book prepared me very well for the tests and is well worth the money, considering the price of re-taking a praxis is very expensive!

Like the fact that this book came with both Praxis I and II Guides to study. Very clear in instructions, and detailed with many tips and actual questions asked on the exam. After all, it was published by the people who make the exam questions, so I definitely would recommend it! I had passed the first exam on the first try, and am going to be studying for PRAXIS II shortly, to take in a few months.

This book is well written. The practice tests and cd really prepare you for the test. I practiced and practiced and when I actually the test I felt ready and less nervous. The Praxis book prepares you very well. I would recommend this book to anyone taking the praxis test. Remember to time yourself as if you were really taking the actual test. Computer or paper test the time is differs.
