Good meters. Good value.
For the price, this is a good set. Especially considering the kit is nominally more then just the DMM itself.

Every Home Workshop Should Have One
I was a little concerned about the quality of the kit because of the price. I use to work on aircraft avionics equipment and used numerous pieces of high end test equipment. I can honestly say this kit by Extech rivales some of the more expensive test meters on the market. Obviously, if you are calibrating delicate electronics to extreme tolerances, you need high priced equipment. However, if you are troubleshooting electrical problems in your home or car, you don't need super high end equipment. This kit provides a multitude of accessories and the meter itself has some neat options. I especially like the backlighting on the meter. How many times have you been working in an area without optimal lighting and can't see the meter face well enough? Anyway, I give this kit two thumbs up. I am very pleased.

Great Basic Kit
I just received the kit today and have to report I am very satisfied with it. The kit arrived as promised and included all the correct components as listed in the description. I immediately tested out the functions on the EX430 meter to make sure the functions worked as expected. The auto ranging feature worked like a charm, immediately reading the changes I made as I adjusted my bench top power supply. Although I don't have a use for it, I tested the temperature probe and it's pretty accurate when compared to my infrared thermometer.I needed a secondary meter to take measurements especially when trying to get voltage and current readings at the same time and the EX430 works great for that purpose. I choose the kit because I have some remolding projects I plan to do around the house and the hot stick and clamp come in handy for those projects. This is an overall great basic electrical kit and a must have for DIYers looking to get an good deal on a test kit for household projects or basic addition to an electronic workshop.

Passing grade
Does what it's supposed to. Bought it for my Advanced Electronics class. The fact that you get both the DMM and a amp clamp for this price is awesome! Great buy!

For home use, who could ask for more?
I am not an electrician, nor do I play one on television. I am a home handyman and once was an electronics hobbyist, so I know how to use these meters. Someplace along the way my old Heathkit multimeter (assembled by yours truly) disappeared and I needed to replace it. For my home and hobby purposes, this kit takes care of all my needs. Not having other equipment to reference against these meters, I am making the assumption that they are accurate enough for my needs and I doubt I will need to replace them in my lifetime.

Most of it Works
The meters are nice but the voltage detector in my kit was defective. Installed two sets of batteries and tested on a live outlet and nothing. I bought the kit for the meters so I'm keeping it, but it would be nice if everything worked.

Great all round kit
This is my second one of these after getting the first one stolen out of my truck. Its a good kit with all tools in one case. Good value.

If you buy look closely before trying to use this.
I have been an electrical, and automation technician for over 23 years, with an associates degree in electrical engineering and a batchelors degree in automation engineering. With, experience repairing arcade videos, building, upgrading and repairing computer systems, repairing and programminf robotics, and designing, constructing, installing, and repairing control systems for the manufacturing industry. And, I feel I have to bring my issues with this product to your attentionThis arrived promptly as ordered and was packaged very well. That's where it ends. ExTech's box stated the same as Amazon's web site, however after opening the box and checking the contents something strange came to my attention. The digital multimeter in this kit was not the same model that both web sites (Amazon's and Extech's) and the box itself and the enclosed manual stated was included in the kit.Someone made a pretty good attempt to make the model 410 look like the model 430. The label that shows the switch position for each function didn't match the function I got. For starters the Off position did not turn the meter off. After closer inspection I noticed that the display did not match what the manual showed. I also noticed that the meter said 410 below the right side buttons and that the bottom button was not a range button, but a check button (with a battery symbol on it).I looked up the model 410 on ExTech's web site. The buttons where as they should have been but the function switch labeling looked like the one for the model 430 instead and the overlay on the screen when I unpacked the meter made it seem as the display would look correct for the model 430. the actual screen did not look as the overlay suggested. However, it did match the screen which the model 410 should have.I then started to check the function switch position and guess what. The layout of the model 410 matched the actual function on the unit I received perfectly. All of this looks as if either ExTechs's quality control has gone south for the winter or some one has tried to purposely use the cheaper meter to pass as what was suppose to be in the kit.I would have been OK with the mix up if there had been no attempt to make the meter appear as the other model. This is not only unethical but a safty hazzard as well. The poositioning of the function on the switch If I had not noticed they were wrong could have been fatal. Set a Meter to the voltage setting but it is actually on current and try to measure across a 480 Volt supply and tell me waht happens? The meter would probably melt even if it were actually on the fused current function besides blowing the fuse. But also create an arcing situation which could be fatal if the correct circumstances were to exist.I also needed the capacitance function that was not on this substituted meter. All of these facts are not neccessarily Amazons fault, because they only sold the product. The other issue is that when I contacted Amazon to return the item for one that had the correct meter in it I was told that I could only receive a refund and not an exchange. Their reply for this was that it was my fault and not their's. I didn't want the refund I wanted what I ordered and I don't understand how receiving something that was not as advertised is my fault. I paid overnight shipping for this item and now I will have to pay shipping again to get one that is correct. Yet it is my fault that their web site started that the kit included the model 430 and I received the model 410 that was doctored up to appear as if it were the model 430.I have purchased a lot of stuff from Amazon and This whole situation is making have second thoughts about purchasing from them again and If they would make good on their sale instead of making pay double shipping for this item my rating wouln't be as low as it is.It is a good deal even if it was suppose to have the model 410, but the attempt make someone believe that an inferior product was something else is inexcuseable, deceptive, and just down right unethical. If someone had received this that didn't know enough about electricity the results could be dissasterous.

DANGEROUSLY INACCURATE - DO NOT BUY!!
Readings are woefully inaccurate! Shows 1.5c DC on an inverter drive, when checked with a Fluke 117, it was actually 440v AC! Also, sparked when measuring voltage! Clamp meter no better, measured a 9.5kw shower and showed 19amps, should be closer to 40! This whole kit is DANGEROUSLY INACCURATE - DO NOT BUY!!
