Iiyama does it again
My last 3 or 4 monitors have been from Iiyama. I did some checking and the company has been bought by another, but nevertheless the Iiyama brand is still my preferred monitor manufacturer.Working from home (as many of us have had to do this last year) on a small monitor was proving quite annoying. I needed more space and unfortunately two monitors side-by-side was simply not an option, partly because I can't stand the black bezels down the middle of the screen and partly because my desk simply doesn't have the room. So an ultra-wide monitor was the only logical solution, and I couldn't be much happier. (Well actually there is one issue, but I'll get to that in a moment.)This monitor is crystal clear across the entire surface, and although I've seen some people complain of dead pixels, uneven brightness and faulty firmware, but I can't find any faults on mine. Perhaps mine was produced later? If I have any real bugbear it's that the monitor is impossibly bright out of the box. When I turned it on for the first time my entire room was lit up. If it were an old-style CRT I might be worried about radiation poisoning :) The problem is that in order to make it possible to look at comfortably, I've got the brightness turned down almost to its lowest setting. That isn't a problem as such, it just means that I have a very small amount of adjustment left.Connectivity through HDMI is simple, the control stick is quite easy to use, the menu is very clear and intuitive (although there are options I can't seem to get to particularly in the colour section, but I'm assuming I just haven't dug deep enough.) The speakers are not the best in the land, but they are perfectly serviceable through HDMI and to my ears the sound is excellent.I'm not a gamer so I can't comment on how well this performs with high-end games and I don't make any use of the FreeSync feature. Being an Ultra-wide, I thought that maybe a flat panel would make it harder to see the extreme left and right of the monitor. But in the end I've worked out that as I deal mostly with spreadsheets and text, I probably would have been more comfortable with the flat panel version (https://www.amazon.co.uk/iiyama-G-MASTER-GB3461WQSU-B1-computer-monitor/dp/B0866GCPXM/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=iiyama&qid=1610991621&sr=8-3) since the only straight lines I see these days are the vertical ones. I'm getting used to it as time goes on but when it's time to replace this one I will probably not bother with the curved screens unless I really get back into serious gaming. On the other hand, the curve on this monitor is actually fairly subtle so I wonder if it would make the experience any more immersive. So in conclusion I would say that the manufacture is excellent and well worth the money. If you're using this for mostly spreadsheets or documents, then consider the flat version (which is also cheaper.) If you're planning on using this for games, then it may be the better option. Either way, based on the monitor I have, you may find this is the Ultra-wide for you

Great image, even greater price
First and foremost, I read about the flickering issue, but have never experienced it - ordered it in November 2020 and it came with the bios already flashed, so no need to worry.I was sceptical of Iyyama at first, despite knowing they’ve been in the business for quite a while, but I’m glad I bought it on a whim. I’ve seen the £900-1200 competitor monitors in person, and they were not only not worth the extra £500+, but I think I’d choose this one regardless, for its simplicity. The settings are almost perfect out of the box, everything works flawlessly, and the image quality is great (having used 144hz va/4k ips monitors in the past).Best bang for the buck monitor, and definitely an upgrade over any 16:9 screen.

Good monitor only minor flaw.
Lovely monitor, I replaced a flat ultrawide with this for the curve and also the 144Hz.Main issue is the flicker you get with a VA pannel in freesync mode with some games. This is even with the latest firmware. Advice is to get a DP 1.4 cable but you still get the flicker at some points/games. Not a deal breaker for me as there are issues with IPS too.

Great ultrawide
I have two of these Ultrawide monitors - one for my gaming PC and one for my Mac Mini. They are just a fantastic price-performance balance. Excellent 144Hz refresh rate, good contrast, good size (immersive in gaming, and handy for multiple windows), bright screen, good colours, nice curve to the screen, useful resolution (like a 27” monitor with extra space added on both sides), and all at a reasonable price. The one downside is that I needed to replace the included DisplayPort cable with a new one (8K KabelDirekt) in order to prevent flickering on the PC with the 144Hz refresh rate. Otherwise, I think it’s great.

Went faulty very quickly. Replaced with another that also went faulty very quickly.
I bought this in October 2020. There was a firmware issue causing flickering and the monitor had to go away for a few weeks to be updated. I was left without a monitor during this update. The monitor then went faulty in September 2022. The panel started to flicker and then, one day, it refused to come on. The LED was on, the cables were connected, it was clearly turned on. But even the On Screen Menu did not work. It was determined that the panel had died.It was replaced, reasonably quickly, under on-site hotswap. The new monitor arrived but, 12 months later, the right third of the screen died. It would have been within the 3 year warranty. I came back the following morning, it was working and the problem didn't present again. More recently it's started doing it again, this time going off more frequently and for longer periods. Iiyama has refused to do anything, they will charge me £65 to investigate it, and they have already said their quote to fix it is "likely to be more expensive than replacing the monitor".Technically, I'm not outside of my warranty period, by a month. The fault presented within the 3 years but they don't care about that. The bigger issue is that neither of these monitors have listed more than 2 years.

Really nice monitor, let down by terrible quality control
The monitor itself is excellent, but I would caution against purchasing it unless you luck out in the panel lottery. Personally, I went through three different panels in my quest to find one that doesn't flicker or have an excessive amount of dead or stuck pixels. It's truly disappointing because, aside from these panel issues, I would wholeheartedly endorse this monitor. The colour accuracy is exceptional, as confirmed by my spectrometer measurements which showed a remarkable 99% coverage of the sRGB colour space. As expected, the HDR performance falls short on a VA panel. However, the brightness levels are outstanding, and the combination of ultrawide aspect ratio and 144Hz refresh rate is genuinely amazing.-2 Stars for QA.
