American Kennel Club 2-in-1 Seatbelt Harness, Small

Got the small size. Dog is a 15lb corgi mix. Wrapped as tightly as it goes, he can wiggle out of it no problem. Bottom loop is reasonable -- but the head/neck portion, there is twice as much strap as I need even when it's pulled all the way. (Currently debating between returning it or cutting off a strap and sewing it back together.)The size chart on the back claims that small/extra small is for chihuahua, maltese, mini dachshund, shih-tzu (though a beagle and bull terrier [Target mascot dog] are pictured on the packaging). No. if you had a chihuahua, you could use this as a hammock for them (The fleece portion is ~10in/26cm down the middle).The chart then says med/large is for pug, bichon frise, lab, boxer -- I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that one size of harness probably does not fit both pugs and labs!It does seem well made, though, sturdy construction.Edit: A few days after this review, I had a family emergency and had to travel with the dog on little notice. I did end up cutting the neck straps and stitching them together in a sewing machine (I don't know what the name of the stitch is, but it goes like |\|\|\|\, a few lines of that) -- making it more snug but no longer adjustable. With that, we drove an hourish one way before he started trying to get out -- unsuccessful, but he did twist himself up in the seatbelt some. Not the sharpest tool in the shed. Anyhow, I threaded the seatbelt through the strip on the back (there's two layers), and I'm not sure if that's right? It seemed to work, BUT if you had a huge seatbelt buckle it probably wouldn't get through.

Perfect fit for our 30lb Italian greyhound/terrior mix! She. Le she hates wearing any kind of clothing like things or harness- she's literally wriggled and chewed and ripped her way out of every harness she's been put in, but we we couldn't continue to take car rides with her trying to walk around, jump into the front seat, or topple over because of bumps in the road off her long clumsy legs. This harness is easy to get on(even on a dog who acts like you're trying to murder it any time you attempt to put anything on it) appears to be comfortsbdk with its soft Sherpa like lining, and holds our pup snug and secure on car rides! My dog doesn't even seem to merely tolerate it- she actually doesn't seem bothered by it at all! Took a star off for not having a connector tether but otherwise a great harness for an affordable price!

This is my second order. I had to go down a size.Sizes run BIG. I now have a SMALL and a Medium. This review is for the SMALL. I have a 20 pound Springer puppy. This fits and has even more growing room so it is doubtful I will ever need the medium one I purchased.This is a great harness. It is lined and well made. It makes walking a more pleasant experience for our Springer,than just using a leash. The harness also can be quickly and easily seat belted into a Pet car seat belt then into the car seat. I can even leave the leash on and have ample room to attach the pet car seatbelt. Now he gets in the car and is ready to go.

It seems to me that AKC put too much faith into a 1 size fits many approach, and they were wrong ...........I read other reviews ( after we already purchased / A** backwards way, haha ) and saw tons of size complaints and " No Choice But To Return " reviews and I don't agree with those ! no offense to the previous reviewers, but if you have any amount of common knowledge then the size adjustment is a walk in the park. I gave three stars cause I did have to customize mine !!! I had to do some cutting for sizing and even redone the whole strap layout cause it was just to weak and would constantly slip .......... we are using this for a 27Lb Puggle, if your looking at this for smaller sized dogs just be a little leery, but even if you have to make some adjustments it is a great harness to keep your lil pets safe : p

It took me more time to get the seat belt through the harness than it took our 34 pound dog to wriggle out of it when we tried the medium harness, but the small fits her well. She prefers being allowed to sit on the back seat to being in her crate, and appears to be comfortable in this. I have peace of mind because she's where she needs to be. Our previous dog managed to wedge herself under the passenger seat on one short trip to the vet, so we like to keep our dogs in their place on even the shortest trips now! This harness is well padded, so I think she would remain safe even if we had to break hard.If your dog is on the border of two size recommendations, consider the build. My sister-in-law's bull dog would probably need a medium, but our Cataloula does not (yet) have enough weight in her upper body to hold a medium in place. Even the small gives her a little room to go with the straps at their shortest.

Fits bigger than expected. Does not fit greyhounds.
