Q: Would this for an A5 size notebook or an executive size Rocketbook?

The external size dimensions of the note book that Amazon sells for use with the Kosibate Military Note Book Cover (KMBC) is a good durable note book. Stand alone 5" x 8" paper notebook with integral binding is 5/16" of an inch thick. So this makes the outside dimensions of the stand alone notebook 5" wide x 8" long x 5/16" thick. Standard A5 paper size is 5.83" wide by 8.27" long. This suggests that the cover that you perhaps already own or looking to fit will be a little big for this notebook. The KMBC cover is a helpful canvas notebook cover with robust holsters on one side to carry 5 writing instruments (e.g. 1.0mm, 0.9mm, 0.7mm, and 0.5mm lead mechanical pencils) with a velcro strap that keeps everything all closed up when not in use. There is a very tight zipper closed pocket on the opposite side of the the KMBC notebook cover. Its best utilization is to put 10 $10.00 dollar bills and a celluloid map protractor there...a good compass or mini flashlight will not fit in in this pocket. The notebook itself is a stiff strongly bound long wearing note book. Honestly, it does not require a cover; just two larger sized rubber bands will keep the notebook close when not in use. What the KMBC really accomplishes is keeping everything that you need for making field notes. Last, the paper is not water resistant, thus you will would want to have a new 1-Gallon sized Hefty zip lock plastic bag to drop the discussed 5" x 8" paper notebook and the KMBC into the above discussed Hefty ziplock plastic bag in case it should rain. Q: Why is the freaking US flag upside down? Fix it

It is made in China, they are not our buddies. If you hadn't noticed the US is in distress. When I bought it, the color (coyote brown, and black) did not display the flag upside-down. I probably would not have bought them if they had. However I can say it is surprisingly well made for the price.

Q: Would this fit a boy scout handbook?

Probably not but it could be easily modified if you know how to restitch the seams.
