This holds 10lb uncooked rice. Very compact and the square or rectangle shape is always an added bonus for any container in terms of space. The reason I gave 4 stars is because of the handle on the lid which is solely used for opening the container. That said initially it is misleading because I thought I can lift the container with that handle unfortunately that is not the case! The handle is actually a latch. That is a limitation. A handle would have been helpful for lifting such heavy 10 lb containers. I have it stacked up in my kitchen so I have to physically lift /move the top container to reach for the bottom one. If you dont need to move yours then you are good.

This rice container is the ticket! The rubber gasket truly makes an airtight seal. Before you take it apart to wash before using, pay close attention to how the rubber gasket is laid in there so you can put it back together properly after washing it. When you wash it and then go to put it back together, you will probably not realize how the gasket is supposed to go in there. Let me say that it is put in the opposite of how you think it should go in. This rice container is perfect for my needs. I make homemade dog food and rice is in my recipe so I need to have a lot on hand. I give this two thumbs up, I love it!!

I got this to keep rice flies from getting inside my rice and laying eggs but within 3 weeks, they were in there 😭 no idea how they do it. I’ve switched to using this orange juice container and it’s been weeks and is working great so far. If your problem is pests, save your money!

Once you put the ring/band on correctly, the product is indeed airtight.The trick to making this container airtight is to bend the shorter edge of the ring/band against the inner plate before you put the inner plate onto the outer plate.The instructions should have included a magnified picture of the ring/band so the user knows how to position the shorter edge of the ring/band.The video, while nicely produced, completely glossed over the essential part of the ring/band and inner plate assembly.Good luck!

When we moved last year someone, who shall remain nameless, threw out my GREAT rice container. Finally got around to looking for a replacement that will hold enough grain for my bunch that will also fit nicely in my pantry. This one fits exactly where I want it and the vacuum seal is an added bonus. I love it.

Before using this container I disassembled it for cleaning. I could not reassemble it by following the instructions. I needed to watch the video that accompanies the Amazon listing. Once washed and assembled it works as advertised. A quality unit.

Just received it, but so far I like it. To disassemble lid for cleaning, put handle in up position and then gently push one side of the handle towards the middle of the handle. There are ears on the handle that keep it attached, and this will allow you to remove it. When handle is removed, the rest of lid will come apart for cleaning of lid and seal.The handle is NOT for picking it up. It is for sealing and unsealing the lid.I really like that it's crystal clear so that I can readily see the food item inside.
