SUNCATCHER UV Sanitizing Wand - Portable UVC Light Disinfection Lamp - Travel, Home & Work

With regards to the Sun Catcher UV Sanitizing Wand is great, yet the at the location of where I work will not allow us to use for our work project.On December 15, 2020, I contacted Amazon in returning the (12) Sun Catcher UV Sanitizing Wands and they will be picked up on December 16th.

I saw this sanitizing wand when looking at others with a similar build and thought there was no way this could work.The wand arrived and I got out my UV testing card and to my surprise it illuminated the UV-C detector on the card. I had doubts about the card since I had bought what I thought was a UV-C bulb a couple years back and it did not illuminate the UV-C area on my card at all.Now there are some reasons why I can see this wand was priced where it was. The upright sensor is not always perfect but has always shut off when pointed the wrong way. It just needs a little wiggle to turn on sometimes. Also, this is a mercury bulb so you have to be careful not to break it.For less than $4, I expected a dud but it does work. How the seller can afford the price to ship and profit from the sale doesn't make sense but they would know better than I.

I received this product damaged. Never got to turn on.

I don’t like the fact that you’re basically guessing how long to use it to kill the germs

I use it to sanitize items and surfaces. Of course, I don't really know if it's doing the job. The light comes on, so I think it is working.

tested with special card I purchased only shows its marking if lite is truely uvc. this passed the test. so will eliminate virus on surfaces.

I'm coming back to change my review.I'll leave my initial review below the update.Literally within days after the return window closed, the unit started shutting off after just 5-10 seconds. I thought the batteries were going dead so I tried fresh batteries. That didn't help. I thought the batteries must be old.It was a week before I bought fresh batteries and a tester.The unit wouldn't even power on.The batteries are good.I tried 2 more sets of batteries before writing this update. Nothing.So although it looks just like the old model I had, the other one lasted several years..this one made it just over a month before it quit completely.For this reason I can't recommend-------Original Review:This is almost exactly the same as the expensive unit I bought for more than 5x the price. The outside body apprars to be exactly the same. The tones are different but the bulb in the unit is exactly the same.I've only had it a few days but so far it's performing just like the name brand unit for a fraction of the price.I would recommend this to a friend
