You'll have to decide for yourself if the current pricing makes sense for you, but with its conventional form factor and SATA interface, and max write rate of 1/3rd the drive each day for 5 years, I've found it to be a great upgrade for old desktops. Note unlike some of Intel's newer DC SSDs, it's a true Data Center drive with a hypercapacitor to ensure proper shutdown on power loss, you should not be able to brick it like many consumer grade drives.I find a combination of the 80GB drive for system storage, and a multi-terabyte spinning hard disk or two more than adequate for my desktop and thereabouts level systems, and it would also work fine for a server that mostly reads data. Note the warranty is 5 years from manufacture, you're not likely to need it, but as these are I think no longer being made you need to factor that consideration into your decision. I've gotten several years of use out of some of these, and expect many more.

Drives replaced a 9 year old intel ssd that finally kicked the bucket. Set drives up in a mirrored array running pfSense for my complex home network. Works perfect!
