Great 12 String/ 6 String Guitar Tuner
The tuner is built solid. It works great on my 6 string and 12 string guitar. It seems very accurate to me. Just set it on auto and it recognizes the note and clearly indicates with a green light when the string is in tune (red if sharp or flat). It is much easier to use then online tuners that I have used. I've only had this for a few days but I love it so far. Packaged very well and in excellent condition upon arrival. Super fast service!!! I ordered late Tuesday evening and got it Thursday afternoon. WOW!!!

The Best ChromaticTuner - Thank You Seiko!
I just received this tuner, hoping that it would be passable in my music studio for both recording and teaching. Simply put, this is a superb product - every feature and function is excellent. The display is very clear, and the meter needle moves horizontally across the tuning line - this is much better than the more common indicator that moves more like a clock mechanism. It is accurate and matches well with a professional level strobe tuner used in our recording studio.Mostly we use it to tune acoustic and classical guitars. Of great value is the display in the lower left corner of the screen that shows the number of cents the pitch is off from standard. (One cent is 1/100th of a semitone.) This is great for super precision, and also to test the intonation veracity of the string....I will highly recommend it to my musician friends, colleagues and students. Many will benefit from this great Seiko tuner.

Seiko SAT800E for the Beginner, Novice, & Pro
I did a lot of looking before settling on this tuner and I'm glad I did. It's size fits comfortably in my guitar accessory compartment with extra room for spare cables +. My initial perception after using the tuner? "Wow, this thing is really nice!" It is something you can use around the crew with pride and best of all it's light weight and rugged enough not to brake while performing from practice to stage. It's accuracy is spot-on while allowing you to tune in half steps quick and efficiently on the fly thru a variety of instruments. If you still have any doubts about purchasing a simple and reliable tuner - this is all you need. I recommend this tuner for the Beginner, Novice, & Pro alike. *You wont be disappointed.

Let down
I usually don't give reviews but in this case I feel I should advise others not to waste their money. The tuner has a good battery life in my opinion, hardly had to charge those, so there is one positive. However the tuner stopped working unless I strummed very loud and close to the tuner, putting something in tune became a nuisance. Eventually I started to just use it for electric guitars because it worked ok for a while plugging in with the tuner and guitar inputs but the tuner began to malfunction to the point where you would strum a low e and it would show on the screen as a wrong "note". Obviously in my experience I am inclined to advise against this tuner.

Very nice tuner; cents readout good.
Good tuner; its best feature is the readout in cents which allows much more accuracy than the usual red and green idiot lights. We use it with a clip on microphone, bought separately, which plugs into this tuner. The tuner's poorest feature is that it always turns itself on in the gigbag and hence uses up its batteries - knock one star for that. We bought a little bag for it, but the on-button is very sensitive. The only remedy is to take one of the batteries out when it has to travel, so as to avoid draining the batteries. We're used to this routine. Fortunately it uses 2 AAA batteries and not those goofy and expensive wafer-shaped ones that the clip-on tuners use. It also has a light, very good, very useful. The pitch adjustment goes down to A=410 hz, and up to 450, so you can get Baroque pitch (415 hz) as well as "Cosmic" pitch (432 hz) if you want.It should be noted that NONE of the tuners we have exactly agree with each other. I have no way of knowing for sure what tuner is "right", only that it has become obvious that it's important to tune all the instruments that are going to play together with the SAME tuner! Even so, because the typical green idiot-light on any tuner has a window about 3 cents wide, it is possible for two musicians to tune to the same tuner and be two cents off from each other, so really all an electronic tuner does is get you in the ball park. Given that in order to distinguish the equal-tempered fifth from the pure fifth requires being able to appreciate what a two-cents difference sounds like, and that few electronic tuners are accurate and sensitive enough to make this distinction, the human ear is obviously more accurate than an electronic tuner, and the electronic tuner is just a convenience to establish a common range within which the actual tuning of the instrument by ear may be accomplished.Even on this nice Seiko tuner, a somewhat used string will produce a wobbly signal which may vary over about 3 cents. The trained ear, however, can use a fuzzy logic process to tune this signal more accurately than the tuner. Folks who rely exclusively on electronic tuners for tuning any multi-strings instrument are settling for a pretty low standard of playing in tune, unless they also employ their ears and logical processes of comparing the discrepancies of key intervals.

Cents measure
When used for the cents measure feature, the performance is frustrating because the tuner needle is inconsistent and unstable, even when used with a pickup.

Ok, but not great
The tuner does not reach the entire spectrum of the piano, which is what I wanted. It is also a bit slow recognizing the pitch. The good side is it is very rugged, has a backlit screen so you can tune in a dark room. For non keyboard instrument tuning, it will do well for the money.

Excelente afinador

The Best.
This is the second one of these I have purchased. It was intended to replaced the original which temporarily went on the blink and a good tuner is an essential part of our musical life. I felt that nothing else was even worth considering as the original had been so good in every aspect including tuning in Just Temperament when required.Meanwhile, needless to say, the first one has recovered from whatever ailed it, so now we have two of these excellent tuners.

The light up screen and robust case is a bonus for tuning in poor lighting and balancing on a music stand
Great- works fab on a 36 string lever harp. The light up screen and robust case is a bonus for tuning in poor lighting and balancing on a music stand.
