Works as intended
On high it'll spin my 1500 cfm roof mounted exhaust fan blades directly above it, even when thevroof fan is not running. I turned a garage into a bathroom basically by putting a hottub in it. Sealed the ceiling and walls off with closed cell foam except for baffles going to the soffits. This allows me to adequately air everything out properly to deal with moisture, and when not in use, insulated and airtight. This is either on or off. It can either be controlled by remote or a switch, but not both. My roof mounted exhaust fan has it's own humidistat and thermostat so it operates independently. So far so good.

Believe the bad reviews!!
This fan does nothing. Makes zero difference when it is on! Our house is 1910 sq ft, this fan is for 2000 and above. It should have NO problem moving air in our house. It literally couldn’t even move a speck of dust, not even on “high.” The remotes are a joke, as well. Should you decide on this (BTW: don’t!!!) have your electrician install an on/off switch. Don’t count on the remotes. It takes 30 min sometimes just to get it to turn on... and then it’s even more frustrating because once you do get it on, it can’t even cool you off. Buyer beware. Believe the reviews.

Tech support is great too
We have an older 2300ft home. This units hums. It’s a little loud on the high speed but that’s great white noise. Make sure to change the batteries in the remote. I learned that lesson dealing with one of their top engineers who doubled as tech support.

I really wanted to like it...
I really wanted to like this fan, but it just doesn't have any power. While there are many positives, the insulated doors, not having to cut through a joist in my ceiling, the ease of installation... When it comes down to it, this thing just does not pull in enough air from the outside to make a difference. You can't feel any breeze inside from the unit when it is running, even on high speed. After running for 2 hours in the early evening after the sun is no longer hitting the house, if we are lucky the temperature inside will drop by 1 or 2 degrees, which is not very much considering the air outside is about 10 degrees or more colder than the air inside. We use the fan in new England in a small 1 story 1000 sqft cottage on a lake and it doesn't seem to do the job.

Easy to install - installed in an elevated (12") above the insularion in the attic. Took an afernoon to build out the box, install the fan and air seal the seams. This is my second Tamarack fan. In 2004 my brother and I installed the Ghost in a larger home I have in Oregon. Love their products.

Very noisy
The unit is noisy and for the cost I would think it would not be.Would not recommend it if you are looking for little to no impact on on back ground noise.

Five Stars
Works well and is quiet, relatively. The insulation works well here in the Colorado winters.
