Ion Whisper Quiet Lite Ionic - Ceramic Hair Dryer, 1875 Watts

After many hours of research into the many hair dryers out on the market, I settled on this one for my wife for Christmas. Her previous dryer was so obnoxiously loud that I could not be in the same room while she used it and many times I cautioned her about her going deaf due to the chronic, close use of such high levels of noise. Not sure why but is seems none of the hair dryer manufacturers out there do not list the sound pressure level (the sound level is usually stated in dB). I read many reviews and found a couple of blogs and even reports with tests of various dryers. There are some really expensive ones out there that claim to be super quiet and some blogs indicated this, but I wasn't looking to spend $200-300 on one! I finally settled on the Ion Whisper Quiet Lite and both my wife and I were very surprised at how quiet it is! YAY!!! And my wife says is gets plenty hot, so that's the most important part. But believe me, it is really quiet!! I would highly recommend.

I was looking for a quiet dryer, and this was it! No more screeching and yowling. What I didn't expect - because my last dryer also claimed to be ceramic ion, same watts, etc. - was the HUGE difference this made in my hair. My hair was normally very frizzy after drying, to the point I HAD to use a flat iron or curling iron to smooth it out. The change was immediate when I started using this dryer - now I can dry my hair and I no longer have to flat iron it! It's not frizzy at all! I am so happy with this dryer and so mad that I didn't know all these years that it was those crappy cheap dryers that were making my hair a mess. I LOVE this dryer!

I love this hairdryer. The main reasons I purchased it were for its quietness and ceramic tourmaline ion technology.The only downsides are that I have no use for either the diffuser and two extra concentrators. Also, I had a difficult time taking off the concentrator that was already attached to the unit. But even with its downsides, this is absolutely the best blow dryer I've ever owned.

While it says "whisper"...it is not. It IS quieter than my last hair dryer, but they really should take the whisper word off. It is light weight and buttons are not in the way when using. There is a small loop at the handle that doesn't show in picture. It is small though, but usable. I'm not finding much use for the "huge" diffuser thing, but then I'm not used to using them, so maybe that's why it's awkward, and did I say HUGE! ;o) It does dry very well and I like the cold shot button you can press while drying so you don't have to change the settings. Overall, I'm very pleased with this.

I bought this hair dryer because my toddler is sensitive to loud noises, but it is still too loud, even on low fan setting. Though quieter than my previous hair dryer, it is a far cry from whisper quiet. My iPad app measures 72 decibel on low, 78 on high, which is a little more than half as loud as my previous one in the same setting.At the same time, the airflow is really weak, so my wife doesn't want to use it. The various hair dryer attachments seem absolutely pointless, since there's so little air flow.I used to dry my hair without heat, but with this hair dryer, I have to use heat or my hair won't dry (and I have pretty short hair). On the medium heat setting, this already gets very, very hot, so I have to keep switching between low and medium heat, which is highly annoying. I wouldn't be surprised if this hair dryer melted or caught on fire if I ever ran it on the hot setting. It simply doesn't have enough air flow to support the amount of heat it produces.Can it really be that hard to make a hair dryer that's both quiet and powerful, and has useful heat settings?

After more than a year of daily use, this wonderful dryer continues to please us. It dries as fast as the best hand-held dryers but is significantly quieter, not just in overall sound level but the annoying (and damaging) high frequency noise is much less. Their turbine, air intake and nozzle design is just better. Also, it is relatively lightweight and fits the hand well. And the long cord allows more freedom to plug it in conveniently. The colored LED window indicates the selected temperature. If this has a long life span, it will be one of our best purchases.

Its not a whisper, but definitely not as loud as my other dryer was... its very nicely designed, however its silver and not pearl white as i thought it was and that's how its looks online

I ordered several hairdryers that were this wattage and returned them all because they didn't actually do anything to straighten and smooth. This one, however, did the trick. It's quiet and I love it!
