Tastes better than the Pea protein version.
Twice I've used this product as part of 20 pound weight loss diet and couple of years apart. I definitely do better when I drink this stuff as my first 'meal' in the morning. I recently tried the Pea protien based powder and this to me tastes less bad. Personally after much reading I've decided the concerns about Soy protein are overblown.I do not make this into any kind of fancy shake with fruit and sweeteners. I mix it with something that hopefully makes it taste Ok and doesn't cost too much per OZ. For a long time i used vanilla flavored rice milk. But it wasn't all that cheap per OZ. I recently tried unsweetened Vanilla Cashew milk. Only 25 calories per cup and that was pretty good. I got it at a discount grocery store so it was not very expensive. Last time I went there did not have any sweetened or unsweetened, so I tried sweetened vanilla flavored flax milk. I have a new favorite mainly because although it's sweetened it's still only 60 calories and the health benefit of Flax seed is supposed to be off the charts from what I hear. It's also not as thick as the Cashew milk a plus for mixing what is already a thick mix. (thick because I try to keep the cost down by not adding a ton of what every I'm mixing it with to save money)Anyway this stuff really helps me not be as hungry through the day and that's a big help cause I have trouble resisting the temptation to eat and I work out a lot. I'm kinda bummed the price recently jumped $8ish dollars of so but it's still a good deal because of it's benefits and and the cost of alternatives.

Makes you feel Alive!
I love the name of this product, "whole food energizer", and that was exactly what I was looking for when I purchased it. I know that food sources of vitamins are best and I wanted to cut back on supplements. Looking at the ingredients, vitamin, mineral and antioxidant content, I wonder if you could actually live off of this stuff! You can feel the difference after drinking this as compared to a regular protein shake, or even taking a cocktail of supplements. I have been adding two scoops to two cups of soy milk and taking it to work with me. I actually feel aware and alert without caffeine when I drink this. Also, it keeps me full well past my normal lunch hour. Not the bad, bloated kind of full which I feel from some protein shakes- just a comfortable, satisfied full. The only drawback is the taste. Now, considering the ingredients it really tastes as good as one could expect. It is definitely drinkable, but the aftertaste is quite "green". I have continued mixing with soy milk because my experiments with juice have not been much better. The one thing that does seem to help somewhat is to blend it with fresh fruit such as bananas or strawberries.I haven't been drinking it every single day but on days I skip, I can really feel the difference. By 10 A.M. I deeply regret it! I would highly suggest this shake to anyone trying to pack more nutrition into their diets, cut back on caffeine, or curb their appetite in a healthful way.

Soy or pea, that is the question
I orginally ordered the Rice and Pea and wound up with Soy. Don't ask me why they did that given people really don't like soy (when they don't like soy). Me, well, I was just looking for a whole food vitamin and protein combination. This is the best nutrition for the cost.Since I've ordered the soy, I reordered the soy a couple of times. It tastes great. Well, I just got the pea and I'm wondering if it doesn't mean pee! It is that much different in flavor and I'm not sure I can manipulate the ingredients to make it better. I think the combination of rice and pea yields more amino acids than just soy, so that's why I got it and want to keep getting it. I don't know though. It would be nice if they used hemp for protein. I've mixed hemp with the soy and it is good and it has all the amino acids.Oh, and I hope maybe someone could varify something for me. Does pea smell almost sour? The odor knocks you off your feet!Whatever you choose, I hope my take helps.

Nature's Way Alive Pea Shake
I ordered this from another Amazon source and got the Soy Shake instead. That was disappointing, but an email to the company got me credit for it, and I got to keep the soy product. I then ordered the Rice and Pea Shake once again. Since I liked the Soy so much, other than being soy, I got the big, 2.2 lb can. Unfortunately, this was just Pea protein. Someday I will get my order the way I want it.I mixed this up by hand with some water and barely choked it down. It was not the same experience as I had with the soy at all! Lumpy, grainy and the taste was awful. I tried rice milk, which helped blend it a little. I definitely recommend a blender ball and shaker or a hand blender to get this stuff whipped in and drinkable. The results, as far as feeling healthy and having energy to last the morning, are very positive! Getting it to the body has taken creativity!Half rice milk and half V8 fruit juice in a blender with ice and I can drink it! It's worth the trouble! My "4 star" rating is for the grainy texture.

Great Non Soy Protein and Complete Nutrition.Just order the right one!
I ordered this for the first time a few weeks ago, because I was amazed at the reviews for what looks to be a complete nutritional drink. However, you have to be careful when ordering because some of the choices are actually the soy mix, which I didn't want. MAKE SURE your invoice says Pea Protein and doesn't say Soy anywhere, or you will be getting Soy. I wrote Amazon and told them I thought the two should be sold on different product pages because this page definitely says PEA Protein at the top, but you'll notice the pictures change on the different options and you have to look at the product description too because it will change with each choice. Amazon did make good on the mistake, so I can't complain there.. Five stars for customer service.Taste. This is great mixed with Almond Milk. I wouldn't say it tastes like a vanilla shake or anything, but not bad for something so good for you. I can see where adding a banana and oj would be very satisfying. I'll have to try that.I'll have to return here in a month or so to revise this review once I've had a chance to observe the nutritional affect.
