The rope broke, I tried to take it out but one holding screw wouldn't go due to the plastic being essentially butter. So I tear it out of the wall and disassemble it.I see that the rope is low grade nylon, the plastic body that holds the mechanism together is very soft, essentially this contraption was made to fail early.I bought it when it was $50 and that was to be expected. But at the new price of $100 this is robbery.

String kept breaking (1st time within 3 weeks, 2nd time again within the next 3 week). When trying to use the open/close manual override it would immediately return to the position I was trying to override. Came home one night to find it hadn't closed. Now it is unreliable, sometimes acts like it is going to work, then doesn't. Cant rely on this to keep my chickens locked in, or let out. Very disappointed! I registered it to extend the warranty. Now, I have to find how to contact Titan, I guess. I was sooo excited when I ordered this. I thought I would have a little freedom. Wow! Was I wrong. So extremely disappointed. Equally disappointing is that I am having to write a negative review, such as this. This is a first!

My hubby installed this. He cut the door out of an old shop light. Originally he was going to use the wood door that was already in place but there is a weight limit and the wood was too heavy. It's so nice to not have to remember to go close the door every night or open it in the morning. Great product

I really loved this at first. But it often closes during the day. And in the over 100 degree heat a chicken could die.Then I had to take it off and reset everything.It would still randomly close.Now that it is cold, it keeps dying altogether. Nothing at all on the screen. I take it down, change batteries and reset it. Then...the very next day it's dead again.I'm discouraged.

I love this brand..I have 2. They work well, and the battery lasts a long time. I am almost at 2 years, and have not had to replace yet. If this had a remote control also feature...it would be the best ever.

My husband installed it so I don’t know how it was for him but I didn’t hear much complaining so I think it was fairly smooth. We used a very light weight metal and it works great. So far it’s worked great and I love not having to get up and let my ladies out. It’s also been safe and I’ve seen it stop with just the slightest resistance. Installed a cheap camera in my coop so I can count my ladies every night! Makes traveling a lot easier too.

Installed 2 weeks ago, just before going on vacation. Verified working, however 3 days into vacation door stopped closing. We lost nearly 1/2 our flock to a raccoon.

This is a great accessory to the chicken coop I built last summer. I really love to sleep in on weekends, but my chickens, not so much. They want to be outside at the crack of dawn. This was really simple to install, it is really well engineered. After about 6 months the string broke that pulls the door up. It was a little difficult to re-string the unit, you have to take the two circuit boards out to do it. In the end, it was only a 30 minute job and next time I re-string it I might try some more robust string.
