Whirlpool W10059230 Washer Lid Lock

Arrived fast and as scheduled. Installed on a Maytag Bravos Quiet 300 to take care of issue we had with DU/DL/LID alarm. Problem fixed. Installation took about 20 minutes. Removal instructions:1:disconnect power+remove control panel housing on top that has knob and buttons(3 screws on back).2:Pop 2 tabs in front of washer just underneath washer door and lift up(one tab on left & one on right side about 5" from either side. Just push and pull up top portion as you do. 3:now you can raise this top portion of washer as well as lid, and hold it up as high as u can and secure. Now remove the 2 screws holding lid switch and clips down the line holding wiring to it. 4: now trace wire harness back under control panel you removed earlier, and disconnect it from control board. Pull it out. Done. *Reverse steps to install new lid lock switch*.PS: in mean time while new switched arrived we were able to get by: unplugging the wire harness connection plug under panel. You will see alarm go from LID to Du, then hit power off,then power on and hit start in whichever mode you select and boom. It works again. May have to do this every few washes. So I just left the control panel housing 3 screws off on back so I can quickly access plug romove and reconnect.

Three years ago we purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio top loading washing machine (& dryer). I have not been too thrilled with this washing machine, since we've had it. It seems to leave white residue on dark clothing, unless we run an extra rinse cycle. Then recently, we had some trouble with an error message reading dL (or door lock). The machine wouldn't register as locked and would not start spinning. It would drain the water out, then we had to remove the sopping wet clothes and hand wash. Our lock was broke.Thank heavens for YouTube and Amazon! We watched a video on how to replace the door lock piece and then came to Amazon to find the replacement piece. This piece (W10059230) fit perfectly. After figuring out how to wiggle the end piece through a tiny hole in the back of the machine, we replaced the broken one and put it back together. It looked difference from the original, but works perfectly! We are excited we were able to do this ourselves in 45 min, for less than $50!

The item pictured as of April 2015 is the original part, the W10059230. You will receive the W10619844 which looks very different but is the correct replacement part and fits in the same mounting. I was confused at first but it is installed and works fine now.

Not much to say really - washer quit working - message said it was a lid-lock problem - logged into amazon with washer model number - this one matched the model - arrived rapidly - repair guy installed it - washer now works. Ta Da!(and the cost was reasonable) Amazon is like a superhero who allowed us to wash again!

This fit my whirlpool cabrio washer perfectly. There weren't any instructions, so I had to do a little sleuthing on how it fit with the existing bezel, but everything is working smoothly. After a brief internet search, I found a very helpful installation video and we were in business. I reserve the right to update my review if this thing breaks in 2 weeks.

After a number of hours trying to make this work I had a service technician come to troubleshoot and he found the part bad that cost me $70.00 and more than 2 weeks without my washer

I received my part earlier than expected. Wasn't sure what it was when I seen the box. Was about 3 1/2' long. Smaller box was inside, makes good shipping sense. Part is different from my original part but it fit perfectly. Had the new one installed in about 10min. If ordering this part you may also want to go ahead and order the balance rods as well. Enjoy.
