cheap, highly-caffeinated, palatable
May be my new favorite flavor of rockstar. First, let me provide some context:Other than this one, I like the rockstar recovery drinks because I get tired of the taste of an energy drink (even if there are different flavors, they all have the "energy drink factor" in common). Those taste way different and are not carbonated. I can also down them in like 2 chugs and it doesn't upset my stomach. So that's nice if I am in a hurry and can't sip on my drink.I also love rockstar punched. Fruity enough to mask that "energy drink factor" that I am tired of.Samurai cola is similar to recovery in that it is a nice change of pace. Although the cola is carbonated, it doesn't seem that carbonated. It doesn't even really seem much like a cola actually. I can also gulp this down pretty quickly without getting overwhelmed with the strong flavor and without getting a stomach ache.Samurai cola is similar to punched because it also taste fruity and sweet. Like others have stated, it is similar to cherry cola. However, I hate cherry cola. So I am not sure why this tastes so great. Maybe because it tastes less like cola. So I don't like cherry cola, but I like cherry. And this stuff tastes like cherry with a hint of cola.It would probably go fantastically well with vodka. I just got laid off yesterday. So I will probably have to investigate this matter for at least a week straight.. Will report back to let you all know how it goes.

Tastes like Coca-Cola Slurpee!
Great tasting Energy Drink if you're a fan of the Coca-Cola Icee/Slurpee flavor. I recommend getting this drink real cold and adding some ice too it for the best tasting experience. You could probably make some good cool pops or Slurpees out of this yourself. Now, for whatever reason, even though it has the same amount of caffeine as Rockstar Punched it doesn't hit me as strong as Punched does. Also, it can sometimes leave a bad taste in your mouth that lingers afterwards. Doesn't always happen and not sure what triggers it but when it does happen it kinda sucks. That's about all the bad that comes to mind regarding this drink. It does come with codes on the tab of each can to enter a sweepstakes for Cyberpunk 2077 stuff but, at the time of this review, they're useless so I wouldn't recommend buying them for that. Buy these for the flavor while they last.

Tastes like a craft cola
I was surprised at how much I liked the flavor. I usually drink diet colas, but made an exception for this Cyberpunk 2077 tie in. I am glad I did. The cola taste was great and it did not have the negative lingering taste that so many energy drinks have.As the calories are a little high for my liking, I have been saving them as a treat. If they had a zero sugar version I probably would’ve finished the case by now and cleaned my house several times over.I did not take them out in a snow storm to see if they kept me warm, so the star category for warmth is at a three.

What alcohol to use
First, the Samurai Cola tastes primarily like a cherry drink but with a little less harshness than a normal energy drink. Second, the Samurai Cola has the Xbox codes.Since this was billed as a cola, I tried going for a classic Jack Daniels and Cola. The sugar content of the "cola" and the sweeter nature of the Jack made the drink cloyingly sweet. I finished it, but it was less than pleasant.Vodka, known for it's ability to hide in drinks, completely disappears in the flavors of the Samurai. If I hadn't poured it in there, I wouldn't have known it was there. A solid mixer; I personally prefer Tito's.Still, I wanted a mix that complimented each other rather than one overpowering the other. I think I found the optimum mix in Bulleit Bourbon (if you are willing to commit such sacrilege). I get both flavors and it is a superior drink compared to the Samurai flavor alone.Good luck with your own experiments!

I wanted to like this, but... meh.
I love energy drinks, as I love most sodas and juices. I expected it to be a sweet, energy tasting cola, and it was. It fit the bill completely, but there was an aftertaste that just isn't there with other energy colas I've had along the way. It's not terrible, but I would likely skip on it in the store. Perhaps if they made it cherry cola and used another flavor to hide a bit of funk, it would be better. I think it would most remind people of drinking a store brand cola. Your friends are drinking Coke and Pepsi, and even Bill over there has an RC Cola, but you have store brand cola.On a side note, 9 of the 12 cans I got were wrinkled up and looked like they fell off the truck. My amazon box was fine, so this was either manufacturer or Amazon warehouse. They opened and drank fine, but maybe the fact that my beverages came to be battered and hardened effected the way they tasted too? I just washed them off and pretended like nothing ever happened.

BRING IT BACK
This has been my favorite energy drink ever since I first found it at a local grocery store, although it's not the only one I like. After I stopped seeing it at the store, I looked it up on Amazon and started getting it through Subscribe & Save. So I'm sad that it's been discontinued, although it was labeled Limited Edition, so I always knew this would probably happen. They need to make Cherry Cola a permanent flavor. I still had some the last time I got my final delivery, so now I'm hoarding and rationing them like precious gems.I usually mix my energy drinks with a similar or complimentary contrasting flavor of seltzer and a couple packets of Truvia dissolved in a small splash of water, to make them a little less sweet. With this, my favorites to mix with are Waterloo's Black Cherry or Member's Mark's Cherry Lime. Then I decant that into little 8 oz plastic water bottles that I've been reusing. Sometimes I drink it mixed with gin, which I enjoy in this more than other liquors I've tried, although Rum and Vodka also go well with it.Since this was discontinued, I've switched mainly to Monster's White Pineapple and will probably be alternating my Subscribe & Saves between that and Monster's Aussie Lemonade.
