CiscoNetworks Meraki MR24 Cloud Managed AP (Cloud Controller License Required)

Meraki gave me a full network stack when I took my CMNA training and I'm pretty spoiled having enterprise level networking at home. I now have a detached lab\shop and I needed WiFi out there, this was the perfect answer! If you are looking for a Meraki Cloud licence to go with this Rhino Networks is really easy to deal with and recommended by my rep. By the way I had this AP claimed and configured in under 2 minutes, working great.

Great AP for OpenWRT/LEDE. Sure it's not AC, but it is as good of 802.11N AP as it gets, with PoE and dual radios at a price no one can beat.

We have Time Warner Cable high speed 50Mbps internet. We were told we could hook up all devices at once (Apple TV's, iPads, iPhones, Wireless printers, laptops, and desktops. We've never been able to do so in this house. Something's blocking the signal from the modem to the rest of the home. We tried boosters that we purchased on Amazon.com (Almonds) and they didn't work consistently. Finally, we were put in touch with a network specialist and he got 2 of these devices for us to try. For the first time, EVER, we can all get internet access, including streaming, with high speeds. The price is insane, but it's solved our problems. Our networking guy also mentioned that you can program these to give precedence over which devices you want to connect first. Also, you can manage your kid's devices- block things you don't want them to view/use. While this is certainly overkill for a larger home, it's what we needed. Can be wall mounted or placed on a table. Slim design.
