Can you rig this up to other pedals? such as a pog 2 and an adrenalinn iii and a boss rc-2 loop station.

The manual is online on the Digitech website. It does not have an effects loop (send and return), but has lots of ins and outs. If your effects are meant to be at the beginning or end of the signal path, you're fine. If you want the effect in the middle of the chain, not so much. It does have a built in looper and lots of effects.

live performance switching from parts of songs to new parts of songs seems impossible, am I missing something?

If you're talking about latency in switching to another patch in the effects bank, then no, you're not missing anything. You can stomp effects in a patch as you'd expect, but you cannot switch from 1 patch to another without that delay. It is a sticking-point on these units for a lot of people. It was an intentional part of the design. To get around this, you either have to have real processing power (which was too power-hungry as well as expensive back when these were made) or have a discrete effects unit in the box for each patch you want to use during a song. Either option would have made the box non-competitive in the market.
