KRUPS Glass Carafe for KRUPS Combi Machines, 10-Cup, Black

I purchased the Krups Coffee Espresso combo machine model# XP1500, used, online, from a private seller on Craigslist.Our coffee maker was worn out and needed replacing. While searching coffee makers on craigslist, I came across someone selling this unit that made coffee AND espresso. I wasn't interested in making espresso, however, the seller was asking only $35.00 and knowing the quality of KRUPS I knew it was a GREAT DEAL at that cost (Normally about $99 new). Plus, I didn't HAVE to use the espresso maker.When I saw the Krups machine it was in LIKE NEW condition! "SCORE!" I thought to myself. And, it only got better from there. The seller included at no extra cost a tamping tool and frothing pitcher he had purchased separately for making espressos.Unfortunately, in my excitement, I placed the tamping tool (heavy metal) next to the unprotected Coffee Carafe while loading them into my truck and cracked the carafe during transit.Fortunately, I was able to purchase a NEW replacement Krups XS1500 Coffee Carafe with Black Handle, online for a great price, direct from Krups... via Amazon.com.Funny thing is, I have only used the Coffee making side of this machine one time!While waiting the 2 days for the replacement carafe to be delivered, I tried out the espresso maker and my girlfriend LOVED it so much, that was all we wanted to drink there after! If you haven't tried to make your own "better than starbucks" espressos and cappuccinos at home ANYTIME YOU WANT ONE for a FRACTION of the price (well, after you research the "HOW TO'S" of making an AMAZING shot of espresso, you'll learn the most important things are GRIND & TAMP. Which means you'll need to spend @ $150 for an excellent 'mid-range' grinder... for starters.) you have GOT TO try this out and the Krups XP1500 is a great starter machine.To wrap this up, I highly recommend KRUPS products as well as KRUPS REPLACEMENT pieces

I bought this replacement carafe seven years ago for ~$20. $50 for this is outrageous! After much surfing online, I found that there is an approved OEM replacement with part number MS-620171, which is also sold by same retailer on Amazon for $22. I ordered this for an older KRUPS model, anticipating that it might not fit, and sure enough, it didn't. There is nothing wrong with it though, it was shipped on time and arrived in one piece and was as described.

I ordered carafe by using the model of my coffee maker. I called the company (smallappliance.com) and was told to send back the wrong one, and they would send me the right one the following week. After waiting 3 weeks, I called them to see what was going on. They told me I had a credit for $11 which was half of what I paid originally and that I must pay $26 for the correct carafe. This company was a total rip off!

Fit perfect, just wish it was cheaper like the other replacement pots at local stores. But, it is the factory one, and fitment is perfect that way.

The top of the carafe was broken. One of the little plastic knobs that hold the top in place was broken off and the top is never secure because of this broken top. I would like to receive a replacement top for the carafe but I don't want the bother of sending it back. The distributor needs to be more careful when sending out replacement carafes to assure that small important plastic pieces are not broken or missing. I was extremely aggravated by the broken knob and that fact reduces my interest in online purchases.I suspect that the top was a used item!! I had a similar problem with a replacement battery for my laptop that worked for two weeks and no longer would take a charge and still does not. Again it was a pain to send it back so I lost the price of the battery. I think the amazon ordering site needs improved quality control and an easier way to replace defective merchandise.

The carafe was well packaged, arrived on time and turns out...even better than the original. Our original Krups carafe did not have the band at the bottom - relying on a glued handle that did need re-gluing once before it was accidentally broken (hand washing). The new carafe was the exact same size (exactly as pictured)and works perfectly with our European Krups coffee machine (not the XS1500).

I use this daily. This item arrived on time and is an excellent purchase. I like it very much and am VERY glad I ordered it. Thank you so much Amazon.com for the great price, good value and prompt delivery.
