Great to start with, plasticy blackout material melted in the sun
These curtains were great to begin with. Fitted the space well, representative of colour advertised. Fairly durable with 2 cats and a toddler. Unfortunately, after a couple of years we noticed the white site of the curtain was starting the stick to itself in the heat of the sunshine. You can't pull it apart without it tearing off so they didn't last as long as we'd hoped.

Extremely good value, highly effective, and very pleasing quality
These curtains are impressive in quality for the price. When Amazon describes them as being blackout, they are true to their word. These filter out 100% of the light through the fabric (obviously you will still get light filtration through the gaps above the pole, the sides and the bottom of the curtains, which is unavoidable with any pair of blackout curtains unless you also use recess blackout blinds of some kind). The light blocking is a superb feature of these curtains though, and it's highly effective. These were bought to replace an old pair of different branded blackout curtains which had cost me £10 more, three years ago. The old curtains had degraded through sunlight over time, fading and developing pin prick holes in the fabric. I didn't expect anything better than these were when I bought them in terms of quality from Amazon Basics. However, the quality of these curtains surpass the old ones! The fabric isn't super lightweight and cheap feeling. I do like my curtains to have just a little feeling of weight to them and I feel it helps them hang better. Amazon Basics blackout curtains have a good quality white lining to them and are well sewn and constructed. The curtain fabric is smooth and has a slight sheen to it.I choose grey, it's a dark grey and a very nice shade. I own bedding in the same shade, it's sometimes referred to as 'elephant grey'.The curtains come with two tie backs which don't require tie back hooks in the wall; they simply wrap around the curtain and fasten with Velcro. If you have tie back hooks you will find that these tie backs have no loop to hang them to the wall hooks; you can be remedy this by easily hand sewing a curtain ring to each one.My only grumble was the degree of creasing in these curtains. I realise it's unavoidable in almost all curtains but clearly this fabric is particularly prone to creasing. You'll probably want to iron them first or steam them once hung. I've run a steamer over mine and although the creases have fallen out a lot, almost a week on some stubbornly remain. I know they'll disappear eventually but I wish I'd ironed them first; I'll probably end up taking them down to iron. That's my fault, not Amazon's, but I was being lazy and cutting corners in hope that the creases would fix themselves with a little steam! These may be relatively plain but they do look lovely when hung, well made, effective, and a good buy. I'll definitely choose them again now I know what I'm getting for my money!

I'm conflicted about these curtains!
Positives first: They are very good for blackout purposes, they are white but border on the blue/grey side of white when against a white wall, they are undoubtedly good value for money. The sizing is perfect. Then the negatives: The fabric is strange, it's like plastic coating on the reverse which is what gives the good blackout but the front is not really like a curtain fabric, it's actually similar to a washable shower curtain I have, then there is the inability to successfully iron them, they can be ironed even on a decent heat with steam but the factory folds when packaged are impossible to remove and the metal ring tops have left an impression where they have been folded into other parts of the curtains. They are going to stay hung this year because it's been practically impossible to find genuinely white fabric curtains, maybe I'll have more luck in the summer months but I've lost the enthusiasm to look!

Need simple coloured blackout curtains and these fit the bill
I’ve had these since last year October (2019) and these are such get value for money. When it arrived, I didn’t bother ironing it as I was desperate to get these up as I really need curtains in my main bedroom (front of the house) as my old curtains were too short for the window. We moved to a new house with longer windows and it’s good these Amazon Basic Room darkening curtains are available in a few colours and sizes. I purchased these in dark grey. Don’t expect luxury as the material is stiff. It’s not silky, not like chiffon or soft cotton but it is lightweight and eventually the creases do go away from taking it out of the packaging/box. Found that these Amazon Blackout thermal curtains are cheaper than other brands and they do a really good job of blocking out the light (as shown in the attached picture). Of course you’ll get light shining through from the top (ringlets), sides which are unavoidable and bottom (depending on the length you buy). I can’t comment on them being thermal as I’ve not notice much of a difference in them keeping the room warm but I mainly got them for the blackout purpose.

Fabulous for the money
We rent and our new flat had no curtains, just these horrible old roller blinds that were a dingy, dirty brown colour. They did absolutely nothing to block light and made everything you did inside into a shadow puppet show for anyone outside, plus they were prone to falling down all the time too.We could have just got the landlord to replace them, but we wanted curtains, not more roller blinds, and something of our own choice. I bought two pairs of these - one in seafoam green for the living room, and black for the bedroom - and hung them using a couple of cheap tension poles from Wilko. It took seconds, they look lovely (certainly don't look as cheap as they are and is a vast improvement over the horrible blinds!) and are a good thickness and material. They definitely block out light and I no longer have to worry that the neighbours are watching us like a Punch and Judy show at night!
