My Daughter Likes It ...
My daughter received this for Christmas after seeing ads for it on television and really wanting it. She is a very artsy/craft type of girl and likes anything hands on like this. We played with this today and it was fun, but you have to let the clay dry over night so it's not a quick and easy sit down and make a necklace or bracelet type process. You make the beads or design the charms how you would like them, put them on a drying stand or waxed paper and let them dry over night. After they are dry you apply the glaze to make them shiny and then the product is finished. Would not recommend for children who expect instantaneous results and expect for the jewelry to be complete right after they are done making it. Older children 9+ years old with more patience will probably enjoy it more. The product itself is easy to use and durable. I didn't like that there was not enough containers to hold the amount of clay they include. They include 4 built in containers with lids for the clay, but they include about 6 or 7 different colors of clay so you have to find other air tight containers of your own to put the other clay in.

Fun but does not work - beads stay soft and cannot be used!!
I thought this looked like a fun gift for my daughter - but as seems to be the case with Crayola, products are hit or miss; and this one: well it is a miss!!It's a nice idea - make your own Jewelry and comes with clay that can be used to fashion beads, little jewelry fixings and a wheel which is supposed to help blend the clay in order to make swirl colored beads! But there are some problems, major problems in fact that make this fun, but render the end product useless!First the little jewelry spinner does mix the clay but you can do just as good a job taking two or more colors and rolling them between your hands. Then you make the little beads by forming a circle in your hands, which means no uniformity and odd shaped beads - now granted this is no big deal as this is a kids homemade craft project; but you run into issues when you make the hole in the bead and leave in on the hanger to dry - the clay stretches out as you make the hole leaving an even odder shaped bead! The big issue however, is that these beads are supposed to be left to dry during which time they harden so you can glaze them (glaze included) and kids can use them to make a necklace or wear using the included fixings...only they do not harden - not in the sun, or the shade, or the fridge or indoors! In fact, Play doh that is left out accidentally hardens better! The clay s soft, doughy and cannot exactly be glazed so the end result is no wearable jewelry for the kids and this becomes a one time use then throw it kind of product!Crayola has some great ideas but sadly , once again, they fall apart in execution!

Concept good, but disappointed in quality/durability
This was a birthday gift for our granddaughter and it was a great concept for making the bead jewelry, but one of the lids for the tubs was cracked when we opened up the box, which was disappointing from the start. The part with the handle that you attached to rotate around to make the shape of the beads was challenging enough to use for me as an adult much less a small child with small hands, as it was really difficult to rotate the handle while needing to press down at the same time. One side of it seemed to always hang up while trying to rotate around making it lopsided and difficult to turn evenly. It didn't appear to be sturdy enough for applying enough pressure and not crack it at the same time. I very was disappointed for my granddaughter as she had picked this out for us to give her and since she lives in another state and I didn't have enough time to re-order in time to celebrate her birthday when she came down. The materials were flimsy and not as sturdy for the pressure that needed to be applied.

Great, but overpriced
This toy is great for my friend's 6 year old daughter. She's very crafty and loves to make her own jewelry, so this was a no-brainer. My only issue is that after purchasing this toy, I saw that you can purchase the same toy from W-Mart for $14 bucks with $1 shipping. Although she enjoyed the toy, I kinda felt ripped off. I've learned my lesson though. Shop around.

Not great
I think the idea for this toy is good: colored clay which your child crafts into beads and affixes to earring posts and broaches, etc. But...I think Crayola skimped on the materials to an unacceptable level of profit margin. For the price I would have expected better quality materials or more of them or at least a user friendly design that allowed you to store everything, once assembled, back in the box. I like Crayola products and this is fun for my 7 year old but I feel a bit gypped for the price from a brand like Crayola.

A lot of fun for my kids
My 8 year old daughter received this for Christmas. She really loves it, has almost used all of the clay out of it already! That's the only "complaint" I have of this product is that there really isn't a lot of clay provided with the package. Lots of different colors, but not a lot of actual clay. If I knew that, I probably would have purchased the refill kit to go with it, but no big deal! Both of my kids (girl and boy) love this toy. They've both made some pretty cute beads and jewelry with it so far.

Crayola bead maker
I purchased this for my daughter for Christmas and also for her friend who had a birthday right before. They both love it! It is very easy to use and tons of fun! The only complaint I have is that you are supposed to let the beads dry overnight. However, they were still not dry. After about 4 days of sitting on the drying rack they are still soft to the touch. But overall its a great toy and has kept us busy over Christmas break! :o)

My daughter likes it very much, though she requires some help.
My 8-year old girl really likes this kit a lot. Though it takes a little more time (at our apartment temperature & humidity, about 16 hours) than instructed for the material to harden, she has kept at it and looks forward to making many of the articles possible with it. Our first bracelet was a great success, she just needs some help making the holes in the "dough" so they are not too big. Ranked in her top tied-for-best Christmas presents.
