I’m a professional architect and a licensed home builder so beautiful, easily installed, low maintenance, durable products are paramount to me. I only use this Koehler 36”, super deep, overlay, single bowl, 18 gauge stainless steel apron kitchen sink in our homes. It is a beautiful addition to a contemporary kitchen and it is the most versatile, easily installed sink I know of. The large, single bowl makes kitchen clean up a breeze, you can easily wash baking trays and large cutting boards, even soak oven racks in it and it can readily hold a large load of dirty dishes and utensils after a big dinner. While the sink is available as an under mount sink, meaning it is installed under the kitchen countertop material, the overlay installation is a faster, easier self trimming type of installation which doesn’t require the countertop to be pre-cut - saving time and money- and the overlay is more hygienic since there is no gap between the countertop and sink that can be a breeding area for mold and bacteria over time. The sink comes with a stainless steel bottom rack to protect the sink bottom from getting scratched which can easily be lifted to sponge off the sink for cleaning. While this sink may be pricier than competitors, the quality and gauge of stainless steel and the construction assure it will not dent or flex and will last as long as your home.

I liked the look of my IKEA DOMSJÖ farmhouse sink, until I had to replace it three times because it kept developing cracks. After living with the final crack for a few years, it eventually got bad enough that it was getting pretty visible. Took some searching to find something close to counter depth to replace it... This Kohler is the one! Still had to fill about 2 inches behind the Kohler and the backsplash, but luckily I had q piece of quartz from the original install to fill the gap. This new sink looks awesome and it's what I should have installed from the beginning.

When you first open the box and see the sink you immediately feel excited knowing that you bought the right sink. It's huge, it's beautiful, it's everything you expected. Until you notice a corner is bent down and it seems to have been dented before being boxed because the box is in perfect shape. Instead of doing the return and waiting again for what seems like forever I've decided to just tap it back to shape with a rubber mallet. I'll post pictures later of how that goes. Besides that this sink is amazing. If it wasn't for that dent I would've given it 5 stars but dealing with the back and forth shipping isn't something I have time for and theres other reviews on here that state that once the second sink arrived it too was dented which is why I decided to straighten it myself as best I could.** Pictures were taken after I smoothed the dent out. Barely noticeable but still slightly bent.

So very glad I found this item, Kohler 3942-4-NA had it shipped to the house and it arrived in a huge box, double boxed. I had been considering replacing our drop in mounted double basin stainless steel sink for a while. During my search I found this amazing looking drop in mounted apron sink. This was one of very few drop in options available, had four holes which was another required specification. I paired the sink with the Giagni Pompa faucet, soap dispenser, disposal switch and filtered water faucet. The install took longer than expected, but there were a number of other issues in the cabinet under the sink that needed to be corrected to maximize space and convenience (both electrical and plumbing). After the sink was installed however, all is fair with the universe. Hard not to focus on it as you walk into the kitchen now. Everyone in the house (visitors as well) loves the sink, its very spacious for soaking/scrubbing large pans and baking sheets. No more vertical scrubbing needed. If you are considering this, I can't see how you would be disappointed.PS unlike some reviews, no trouble with sink draining properly, and item arrived in very good condition.

The sink is always the first thing people comment on in our new kitchen. This sink has worked well with only a couple issues with installation. The paper pattern for the cutout didn't work perfectly so there was some added adjusting under the counter to get the clamps to attach fully. I chose this sink to get an apron style while still allowing a laminate counter top. It looks great and we used all 4 faucet holes. Left to right we put the dishwasher air gap, faucet, air switch garbage disposal button (http://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B002YRA1J2/) and our Instahot on the far right. This setup works great and the sink has turned into our 1 year old's favorite spot to take a quick bath after making a mess. It gets continual use. The only complaint is that it shows scratches so be careful to avoid sliding pots and pans, especially cast iron, on the top while you fill them with water!

This sink was the answer to several of my kitchen problems. First of all it solved the problem of a crack in the granite countertop that was directly in front of the old kitchen sink. The apron solved that beautifully. I didn't want new cabinets and all the time and endless dust and bother . This sink really did fit my standard 36 " base cabinet like a glove , I still can't believe it ! It seems far larger than my old double sink and makes washing vegetables easy , especially if you get the grid for the bottom ,I just throw my celery on there and rinse clean and let it drain in place. And, if you are feeling lazy ,you can hide amazing amounts of dirty dishes in it.
