Best HMD on the market right now compared to Sony and Oculus
I have owned many different HMDs, from recent ones (Sony HMZ T2 and the Oculus Rift Dev Kit) to old ones (Virtual IO glasses and Forte VR headset, Phillips Scuba) to name a few.Don't let the silly pictures in the press release for the Cinemizer of a guy in a hard hat and a child at a dentist fool you. This is actually a serious product. Here is a comparison with the other products currently available:The Sony HMZ head mounted display (HMD) The Sony HMD, including the latest HMZ T3, which I tried but did not purchase, is just not comfortable or in focus enough to have it on your face for any length of time, so having a better FOV is meaningless.(I owned the HMZ T2 and I tried everything to make it comfortable/in focus, from purchasing third party pads to reading forums on the internet- its just a flawed piece of engineering which can never be comfortable without a complete redesign). The Oculus Rift The Oculus is also cool, but it is meant for a different application, it is meant for immersive VR with headtracking and it is a lot blurrier than the Cinemizer, although it is comfortable enough (though still not as comfortable as the Cinemizer). If you want an immersive virtual reality experience, get an Oculus Rift with Tridef and try to tweak it to work with various commercial games. You will not want to watch a movie on this using Rift theater or other such app because the resolution and comfort will be less than the Cinemizer. The CinemizerIf you want to watch movies and yes even web surf and have a portable monitor, you want the Cinemizer. When using Chrome, you will want to use set the default zoom to 125-150 percent- if you do this you will have very nice, viewable, non blurry text and enjoy a comfortable web surfing experience. It actually works extremely well, perhaps even better, hooked up to an android device with hdmi output. By working extremely well, I mean that the web content is formatted for a mobile device and as such the presentation and text size, etc. is perfect for the Cinemizer. When using a windows OS, you can increase the size of the default fonts to improve the readability of text for non web browsing apps to get razor sharp text, however this is not necessary in my experience. The Cinemizer comes with several different nose pieces. Experiment to find the one you prefer. You may also want to purchase the optional immersive light blocking accessory, which attaches nicely on to the glasses to block out the surroundings and make it dark around the screen. It is nice to be able to easily remove this accessory to view the keyboard/surroundings as desired.I actually found that I need to have the glasses positioned slightly above my ear instead of resting on it, otherwise I feel as my eyes have to constantly look up at the screen, which is not comfortable. So having the glasses rest above your ear instead of directly on it (which works great for me) is a further adjustment you may want to try. Unlike the other two HMDs mentioned above, the picture is 100% in focus and clear, including all corners. 1080p would be nice, yes, but that tech is not available to HMDs priced in the range of most consumers. You can use these in the hot tub, in your hammock, in all kinds of situations where mounting a display would be a challenge. And it comes with a battery that lasts a few hours and is rechargable via mini usb. For home use I usually just leave the usb plugged in.When you are watching a movie or using it as a monitor, you dont WANT a FOV larger than 40 degrees, as any google search for guidelines for large screen placement and viewing distance will confirm. In other words, if you sit too close to the screen, it isnt comfortable. The Cinemizer gives you the largest screen you want at the correct distance, which is what an FOV of 30 or 35 degrees actually means.(To be honest I would prefer a FOV of 40 in the Cinemizer, but it is still very good). I have a 55" TV and the distance I sit from it results in about a 30-40 degree FOV as well. I use both, sometimes I feel like watching movies on my 55", sometimes on my cinemizer. I am more likely to use my 55" for typing or as a monitor, and often use the cinemizer to watch movies, which is what it is probably best used for. For games I use my Oculus Rift.

Screen size small
Nothing prevents outside light from getting in. The screen size looked like you were holding an smart phone about a foot from your face. Not worth that much money.

Didn't work out for me, but still a pleasant experience.
I was excited to give the new Cinemizer OLED a try, having been watching reviews of it, along with some of the emerging competition in the HMD market. Once received, I made all the connections to my PC and checked for any updates in firmware. The un-boxing and connecting were not difficult. These slip on and off like glasses. I put them on and adjusted the optic wheels to focus each eye. Unfortunately, there was a dead pixel in the corner that shined a bright blue light from just outside of the picture. Other than that, the picture was perfect. Crisp, clear, with a size equivalent to sitting and watching my 42" TV from 6 or 7 ft away. I did notice I was having difficulty in focusing, and thought I may just need to "get used to them." After trying to watch a movie and moving the glasses around, from side to side and up and down on my nose, came to the conclusion that one eye was always going to be out of focus due to a lack of ability to adjust for pupil distance. I contacted the seller and requested a return and was offered the option to exchange or for a refund. If it were just the pixel, I would have exchanged, but since there was not an adjustment for pupil distance, I requested and was granted a refund.

It is an amazing experience. It makes my job very easy
From the day I received this Cinemizer, I never do aerial filming or photography with Dji Inspire 1 without it. It is an amazing experience. It makes my job very easy. Forget about those who complain about this product, they may be having problem with their won devices. I recommend this production for aerial videographer and photographer.

Not there yet.
Using for FPV on a DJI Phantom Vision 2+ and also for watching Netfix/iPhone and Roku via HDMI.I really wanted to love these things.I had absolutely no issue with the price given the advertised performance and concept. At this point the technology on these simply isn't ready for showtime. There is quality control issues with the ear pieces (my left earbud was coming in and out), and the picture quality is not great, the colors were off. Issues that you would not expect from someone like Zeiss (or on any hardware that is $700)I think Zeiss sacrificed a lot of quality for the size and weight. These are clean looking and ultralight. I hope Zeiss keeps working on improving this product, the first generation of any technology is always a little rocky. I expect that I will be buying another pair of these in a year when the quality and technology is improved, but for now will be returning these.

recommended, using it with GraphiSoft BIMx and with a bit of fiddling with motion-drivers on a PC, works as expected
