Really nice bag for a frequent traveler who lives on the road.
I just bought this case, so can't speak to long term use. In short, I really dig this bag.I'm a consultant, I travel every week for work for like 10 months at a time. For the last two years, I've been using a 22" Swiss Army roller that I got from Target, and it served me well. But in the last couple trips I felt one of the wheels was dragging a bit, and I knew it was on it's last legs... Sure enough, upon inspection I found one of the wheels was split. Also, the telescoping handle was super jiggly and lose which was bothering me.So I did some research and found the TravelPro XL was highly rated, extremely well related and a better value than the top tier bags. Well, while reviews I found were for the XL, time has gone on and Travelpro offers other bags. So I felt the Magna 2 would be a good fit.I really love this bag. I don't use the garment bag or the extra internal straps/holds, but glad to have them. I have to say I did notice the missing 1" of bag space (compared to the Swiss Army bag), but I still fit in all my stuff in. I can see the zippers are improved from the older XL bags, and they look pretty sturdy and have nice zipper pulls. The big thing is the wheels... When I roll the bag, it's sexy and requires little effort to move. The bag glides across surfaces really well. I did have one hiccup where I was rolling across the the hotel lobby carpet and it got a bit slogged down, but in most carpet situations I did not have any problems. The lobby had a really soft carpet pad and a thin mushy carpet.I also noticed the handle is pretty solidly mounted with some give, but well mounted and not as flexy as my previous bag. It's pretty solid.I don't know what else to say. It's good stuff, and well worth the money. As a vegetarian, I wish it didn't use leather, but that's a lifestyle choice not a problem with the bag. I have no problems with this bag. Thanks Travelpro.

Excellent suitcase, even better warranty!
We bought 2 of these after we got married because we figured we needed some decent luggage for a honeymoon, etc. First off, I am really impressed with their warranty, which covers airline damage. I've been fortunate to never have any real problems with airline damage, but the piece of mind is comforting.Pros: The wheels feel sturdier than most competition. I used to have a carry-on size bag (Samsonite) with the omni-directional rollers, but the wheel treads came off after about 2 years. These are made of rubber (vs. plastic) and magnetize into certain directions, which is a really neat feature. Overall build quality is solid and they have plenty of zippers and places to put your stuff. The included garment bag was weird at first but I've grown to quite like it. Now that I'm an adult, I guess I wear dress shirts, so it's nice to not have them super wrinkled when I arrive at my destination.Cons: A bit small, but that's to be expected for a carry-on. However, it could have been bigger if they made the wheels a bit smaller. Nevertheless, I think they made the right choice as the wheels seem more durable and will probably last longer. Another con is that if you pack the suitcase too much then the handle will sometimes not come out because the suitcase is bent a bit. I had this problem with my last luggage. I'm a bit disappointed because I feel like this could be avoided with better materials. However, maybe they decided to optimize for weight, who knows.Impression: Overall, this is an excellent suitcase that is backed by an unbeatable warranty. I will almost certainly be buying one of their larger sizes for future longer trips.

Overall good bag, 4-4.5 stars.
I bought this for international travel as a recommendation from a family member.I have traveled with this as a carry on across a dozen flights now.Its a nice bag, looks great the green/Leather looks better in person, the quality of the fabric is very nice and the overall construction is great. The zippers are very nice. The carry handles are also extremely nice to use.I can pack for 10 days of business/nights out with this.It fits in all international overhead with the expansion zipper closed. It rolls very nice, if you have to take a hike its not a problem.I removed one star because I spent 200$ on the bag expecting to get something more and at the end of the day I feel like I didn't maximize my money. Here is why:The telescoping handle has only weird heights; I find I’m always playing with it to try and get a better height. The overall construction feels a bit flimsy; I am uncomfortable lifting from it as it don’t want it to become more loose. The roll straight castors are a bit of a miss, somewhat of a gimmick, and I'm waiting for them to break.. The wheels are extremely nice and the rubberized tire is great but overall they are deflecting a bit more than I would hope and I am all but certain they will eventually fail with use n cobbles. It doesn’t balance well; the wheels are set back on the bag so I find it often likes to tip over.Overall I would give it a 4-4.5 star rating for being quite good, Im expecting it lasts 5 more years.

Great bag, but not really a carry on on most airlines.
Great design. Great quality. Leather accents. Only 1 major problem - it's not 21 inches as in description on Amazon, even the details are wrong - with wheels and non collapsable handle it's closer to 24 inches in height! There's not many airlines that allow 24 inches as a carry on!Correct dimensions (from Travelpro website) are: OVERALL DIMENSIONS H: 23.75in W: 14.75in D: 9.5inSo although a great bag, and probably fine if you are flying business class - not a really acceptable as a carry on.

The two pockets on the front are great for keys and jacket or a laptop
The Travelpro Platinum Magna 2 21" spinner arrived within a few days and was exactly as expected. I've used it once for an airplane trip and it rolled very smoothly and surprisingly carried everything I needed with space to spare. The length is shorter than 21" (it's about 20") so I was worried it wouldn't hold as much as my previous suitcase. Surprisingly, it had ample space. The two pockets on the front are great for keys and jacket or a laptop. It looks sharp and I couldn't be happier with it.

Expected more from Travelpro
Pros:The suitcase itself looks good and and built quality is good.Delivered on timeCons-It is definitely not 21 inch and was smaller that what I expected.-Specifications state that the wheels have magnet or some mechanism designed to keep the wheels moving in a straight line without veering off to one side, this does not work and the suitcase is barely a week old and i took it on my first trip.-When compared to other brands I am not able to justify the premium on this item. Americal Tourister's 21 inch has a lot more room but costs a lot lessI plan on returning this item

Three Stars
It should not be sold as a carry on since it is over 21.5 inches
