Yes, but first you need to set up and install via the Tapo app and link to the Alexa using skills. Then you can change colour and dim via voice assistant.

Would this work on a dimmable switch?

I would suggest not to use it with a dimmer switch as the current drawn would be very low so the dimmer may not work properly or may buzz. The lamp is dimmed with the Tapo app or by using Alexa to say something like "set light at 50%"

How can i get my alexa to use party theme?

The Tapo App on your phone/tablet has features like party and multi colour changing options, the Tapo skill on Alexa only controls 16 standard colours and the brightness from 1 to 100% so you cannot run the music sync or other flashing options through voice control currently. You can setup timer options via Alexa as this is an Alexa feature and not a Tapo feature.

Every one here days it works fine with alexa but the reviews of the alexa skill say it's rubbish and stops working after 2 weeks. who do i believe?

I’ve had my bulbs working fine with Alexa for about a month now. The bulbs change colour and switch on and off to command. I have used Alexa app to switch them on and off while away from home without any problems.
