Equate 4-Way Nasal Spray 3-Pack Phenylephrine HCl - 1 fl oz each

If you are looking for a very fast acting, nasal decongestant, this is the best product. It works exactly the same as the name brand, and opens up your nasal passages in just a minute or two. Does not last as long as some medicines, lasts about 4 hours. There is a "rebound" effect, as with most nasal sprays. When it wears off, you can have slightly worse nasal congestion than when you first used it. It was suggested to me that when you have bad nasal congestion, use it on one side only. It allows you to breathe though one nostril, when that wears off, use it in the other. When whatever is causing your congestion goes away, only one nostril will have the rebound for a short time. If used ever 4 hours in both nostrils, it is really bad when you stop using it (as you will be totally congested in both sides for a time.But when you are congested, this is my go to medicine, works like nothing else I have found.

I have been using the Menthol version of this product for some time. Now it is becoming ridiculously expensive as Novaris is revamping their plant that produces this product. So I decided to try the regular version of this product. It works just as well and actually is better when your nose has become so raw from a Sinus Infection since it does not have the Menthol in the product that actually makes everything drier and more painful than it was to begin with. I ended up with 5 boxes of the regular 4 Way (Equate) Nasal Spray. I would recommend it especially with all the smoke and issues we have had this year 2012 that has made it very difficult for people like myself and others with Allergies and trying to avoid a serious Sinus Infection. Mine now is much better than it was and without antibotics at least so far. I have used it with my other medications and have had no contradicting reactions with any of them. If you really want something with Menthol? You can get the sticks at your local pharmacy that are shaped like a tube of chapstick. Or Village Naturals makes a Cold & Allergy Bath soak that can be used in the sink and inhaled using a very warm wash cloth. Also there is Vicks Sinex it has a different Nasal Decongestant with Menthol. I have used the Sinex with this product with no prblems in fact makes it better. I buy this from walmart, but 9 times out of 10 they are out of it >=( So I searched online. It is reasonably priced. Walmart sells it for 2.82 each and this came out to roughly 3.50 each. I went to walgreens and bought their equivalent, same size and shape bottle, same ingredients and just a different name and they charged me $8.70!!!! Wont ever do that again. Was told by walmart that the manufacturing company keeps getting shortages so they never know when it will be available. I will definitely but this on here again. Now about the product, for me, its a life saver. I get congested to the point where NO air will move in or out of my nose, I use this product and within 60 seconds I can breath clearly. I use it every day, every 4-6 hours actually. This is not advised. I cant live without it. The difference in this product to all the other ones on the shelf such as Afrin or various non name brands is the main ingredient Phenylephrine HCL 1%. For me personally this is the only product that works for me. Will continue to purchase it on here

When 4Way's availability dropped out of the market all of a sudden, I bought this as a substitute. Works very well, but as many of the other reviewers have stated, it doesn't last as long as 4Way. But it's also a lot cheaper and contains a lot more per bottle. I may not switch back to 4Way when it becomes available again, depending on 4Way's price when it does become available again. But for now, I'm happy with this.

Great price and just as effective as the brand name

The active ingredient in this is perfect for my family of sneezy, wheezy allergy sufferers. A couple blasts up each nostril on your worst allergy days makes breathing a heck of a lot easier. We don't use it for longer than the recommended period of use, but 2-3 days in a row when you have a bad cold or when pollen season is kicking your butt . . . this is just life altering. I hate the drippy drip and having to blow my nose 200 times a day is not only exhausting but rough on your skin, this helps dry up the river. We all take allergy meds every day, and see our allergist regularly, but sometimes you need a little extra help on especially bad days and THIS is what gets us through those bad days. Everyone in the family has their own bottle, with their name on it, and believe me when you realize you're getting miserable due to allergies it's so nice to have this on hand. I never leave the house without mine in my purse and I keep a bottle in my suitcase so I'm doubly covered while away from home. The bottles seal very well and have never leaked. We love it.

If you need this product, and other vendors are sold out of theirs, you can't go wrong with this version. Yes, you pay a bit more than they go for in the store, but shipping is fast and the price is still comparable to the few on the market by various stores that make nose drops or nasal sprays with this main ingredient. The 1% is the extra-strength version, and this is twice the size of the brand name version, which has been around for decades. If you have cold, chronic allergies or such - you can't go wrong. Just be sure to abide by the dosage recommendations, so as your nasal passages do not become dependent on them.
