Size:2-Liter Grow stone Gnat Nix. Non-toxic Fungus Gnat Control - Top Dressing Bag 2ltr Made from 100% recycled glass and 100% American made, Gnat Nix has NO harmful chemicals or pesticides. Gnat Nix controls gnats at different points of their lifecycle. It prevents adult emergence from hatching larvae and deters females from laying eggs in the growing media. As a result, the lifecycle of fungus gnats is interrupted, and its population significantly reduced. Gnat Nix is easy to use -- apply approximately 1/2?- 3/4? thick layer of Gnat Nix top dressing to fully cover the surface of the growing medium in your growing containers.

Let it go a good week without watering if you can
This WORKS!!!!!! But if I can give a little bit of advice. Before applying this, let the plant DRY COMPLETELY. Let it go a good week without watering if you can. Then apply the gnatnix. Then get yourself a bag of the original growstones and apply a thick layer of those on top of the gnatnix. THEM WATER! What you're doing there is letting all the little baby gnax growing in the soil to dry out and you're letting all the fungus they're feeding off of to dry out too. Applying the growstone on top of the gnatnix is going to help protect the gnatnix when you water. And don't water too much! Once per week. You should be letting the soil get nice and dry before watering again and don't over fertilize.

Awesome! Must try!!!
I've had a pretty bad gnat infestation for two months or so in my house plants. I tried soap with apple cider vinegar, sand on the top layer of the soil, etc.Nothing has helped, until Gnat Nix! Right away I noticed the adult gnats going crazy when I put the layers of Gnat Nix down. I also got some gnat stix to catch the adults. I woke up this morning and there must be at least 40 adults, if not more caught by the gnat stix and I'm positive the Gnat nix will get rid of all the babies. The picture is from one week of having them in!I'm already able to eat and drink again without the worry of gnats getting in my food and drinks.I got the bigger bag and I have an insane amount of house plants of all sizes. It was able to cover them all and I still have some leftover!

Gnat nix does NOT work.
After reading the reviews I almost didn't purchase. I wish I would have NOT bought it. This is very messy to apply. You need googles an mask for safety. This is crushed glass an powder floats in air. This product does absolutely nothing to detour or control fungus gnats. The gnats crawl around in this like a playground. I finally after months of different products found a fix to the problem. What a mess to get rid of all that glass out of my plants! I did an then applied mosquito bits an watered. This product works!! It kills the gnats in the soil. I then bought yellow sticky flags an they capture the adult flying gnats. After almost a year of different products an spending a ton of money finally their all dead.

Absolutely does NOT work.
I read the reviews and saw some people saying the problem was worse after using this. I thought they were being a bit dramatic. Wrong. This did make my problem worse. I have 1/2" thick layer of the product around one of my indoor plants. It has created a very friendly environment for the gnats. If I take my finger and touch the "Gnat Nix," gnats will fly out of it. This is after 1 week of treatment. I have uploaded a photo. The black specs in the photo are the gnats enjoying the new playground I created for them with Gnat Nix. Prior to using this, I had used those yellow sticky papers. They were working well, and I probably caught over 100. But without killing them at the source (in the soil), I was fighting a losing battle. I have reordered them, though, since it's the only thing that worked so far. I'm ordering the large 8"x10" sheets so I can cut them. Sorta expensive otherwise. Will probably be taking the plant outside and washing off all the soil if this doesn't work.

Purely physical barrier & not even super effective at that
While their customer service line was fantastic, I was very disappointed to find out two things about this product after buying 2 large bags:1. It does NOT serrate / kill / harm pupal gnats as they crawl up through it. It is PURELY a physical barrier intended to be a dry area that makes gnats less interested and to make it *harder* for the larvae to emerge.2. In a drip system, if you're not super careful with sterilization, fungus gnats will thrive in the gnatnix itself not even having to make it down to the soil.Because of these two things, in my particular system, this product has largely failed. I was able to achieve some success by burying the drip lines, but I could have used perlite for the same exact thing at much less cost.

Awesome for hydroponics too!
This stuff is the bomb! I had a bad dose of the fungus gnats and I grow hydroponics. It was crazy, I'm talking thousands of gnats would be caught in 2-3 days. You need to make sure you cover the entire growing median with an inch or so, make sure to pile it around the base of the stock. I use and recommend to use clear shipping tape and put some strips the length of your lights or where ever they are congregating, the yellow gnat traps also work though the tape is much cheaper and just as effective. So with the tape to catch the adults and using Gnat Nix as directed with in 24 hours I went from hundreds to none.Oregon Cannabis GrowerOkay, I still give Gnat nix a 5 star though I was over excited the first day. It took about two weeks before I have zero gnats. The larvae and adults have to go through their cycle and you have to trap the adults to cut the cycle down. At first it stopped them until the already hatched gnats matured, now at three weeks I have no gnats for days. I will use it again if I ever get these pest again.

gamechanger..
i've had a terrible gnat infestation, and i needed to put a stop to it. i've tried a chemical, i've tried bleach, and soil changes, and pot changes. nothing worked. it's my hibiscus tree i've had for nearly 10 years and i couldn't bear to toss it out. as a last hope, i purchased a bag of these. about 75% of the bag covered my 12" round pot with a really decent layer. i'm going to water from below from now on, just to avoid disturbing the layer of the gnat fix. it was easy to use and actually looks like little pebbles. little do people know it's use is to fix a bug problem, not for decoration. this is a product i hope i don't need again, but would be my go to in case i do.
