I first tried this product at International Market on Belmont Blvd in Nashville. Patti (who now has passed on) would encourage customers to try new things at her Thai eatery. I came to love the black fungus and their hot mustard. It was so hot that her employees had to wear masks and gloves to break in down into smaller packages. Eventually they had to give up so we had to buy the large containers.Back to this product: I soak it in cool water. Then feel around for any bits of wood attached to the fungus; you simply pull those off. Once rehydrated, you can put it in noodles, rice, salads. It is a somewhat neutral taste, with a mild woodsy flavor. We hope you will enjoy it!

These are excellent. Not the cheapest but very good. Good mean clean easy to wash.

…add lots of water over night …these pieces absorb lots of water and grow large…don’t put a lot in at a time…and they taste great in veggies dishes, salads and soups…and go figure, they are really healthy…

An abundance of dried mushrooms on the smaller size than I’m use to, but very good quality and delicious. I soak them in a combination of water, kikoman soy sauce, a drop of sesame oil and a pinch of sweetener. They swelled up and are perfect in ramen noodles, rice etc.

I used this product to make hot and spicy soup from asian cuisine. I loved the way the mushrooms reconstituted. I was impressed with the size of the mushrooms. It is a small bag but 1/2 cup of dried mushrooms make two cups when reconstituted.

I love these mushrooms, add a great texture to a dish. Usually, you would find some woody stalks or hard piece on the mushroom, but I haven't had any on this product!! Great product! I ordered one bag to try and now I am subscribed :)
