This rubbing compound is a MIRACLE...
This 3M 06085 Perfect-It Rubbing Compound truly is a miracle worker. I had recently painted a car and when finished I still had some horrible over spray and some orange peel. I was really bummed until I did some research and discovered using a 3000 grit sandpaper followed up with the 3M 06085 will remove ALL defects. It absolutely did remove ALL the over spray and made the orange peel invisible. I really could not believe my eyes seeing the very smooth and shiny outcome for a rubbing compound. It actually performs more like a professional polish because the finish is so smooth.Like others have mentioned this stuff can be used on other tasks as well. Works real well on plastic headlight restoration as well.It might seem expensive but I went over a 93 T-Bird twice and still only used 16 oz. For what it accomplished I would pay double the price, but don't tell 3M...:)Update: 9-29-14I realize I forgot to mention one should definitely use the 3M 05723 8" Foam Compounding Pad along with a 8" rotary buffer/sander. The correct pad and rotary speed really are fairly critical for the proper end result.kd
