A must have
Works very well for the Colman NorthStar and don't have to worry about the glass breaking when going on trips.

Protective lantern case
Even if knocked over the case contains and protects your lantern when not in use or being transported or stored long term. A must for protecting the glass lantern globe from breakage or possible damage of any type. Easy positive latching and top carrying handle.

Nice case fits the Northstar propane series lanterns
Fits my Coleman Northstar lantern very well however I do wish there was a little bit of padding to keep it from rattling around. I did remedy the problem by getting some self adhesive weather stripping from a local hardware store and placing it in a few locations where the ventilator for the lantern sits. Now first off there is some room in the bottom of the unit where you can store a pack of matches and a few spare mantles. I have not tried to get one of those wand lighters into the case yet but I think it could be done with a little creativeness. The case has a good solid feel to it and I like the way it opens up for easy access to the lantern and supplies. You can not store a propane cylinder in this, only the business parts of the lantern itself including the plastic base that you insert the propane cylinder into to keep the lantern from tipping over. My only questionable part of the case is the latch. While it holds well now I can foresee in the future the plastic getting fatigued and cracking due to being bent every time the case is opened or closed. While we are on the topic of the latch it should be noted that the red handle folds flat and can also help keep the unit shut if the latch were to break but you would at that point have to carry the unit without using the handle which kind of defeats the purpose of having said handle. So overall the only reasons it lost that star is they could have included the $0.25 worth of adhesive foam strips to pad the top of the lantern and the latch design could be improved.would I buy another one? Yes

Perfect Carrying Case
I bought this case for my Coleman 5152 to replace the much less than adequate carrying case that originally came with the lantern and this one really is worth keeping.Construction: Consider this case as protection from day-to-day bumps and knocks that come with normal use and reasonable handling, not as a guarantee that this is an impervious shield against all perils. The case is made from lightweight, extruded plastic but certainly sturdy enough to do the job for which it was designed (see the first sentence), the over-sized latch closes securely but it's is still easy to snap open even with thick leather gloves (yep, I tried it), and the hefty folding handle is more than adequate to lift a lantern and has rounded edges for carrying comfort as well as a pebbled surface to help make it slip resistant.Fit: This fits my 5152 perfectly and I would guess it would fit any of the other Coleman Lanterns that are listed as compatible for this case. I'm curious as to what Coleman model or other brand lantern those raters are using when they are complaining about the fit because that would make their reviews that much more valuable. Please, people, if your item is not listed as compatible with the product you are considering buying and you still buy it, don't complain if doesn't work; it's your fault and your fault alone if it doesn't work/fit, so deal with it.More Fit: It took me ten seconds and one trial to figure out how to position the lantern in order to securely close the case.Storage: You can fit an extra pack of mantles in the space under the lantern, but you'll have to find other accommodations for the gas bottle.Bottom Line: Great case, good price, will reasonably protect your compatible Coleman Lantern, sturdy enough to last.

Good protection
I purchased this case to protect my new lantern. It’s sturdy, well designed, and easy to use. I’m a bit tough on equipment, but this case withstood my abuse with flying colors. A great investment to protect your lantern from damage.
