Capable of "recording studio" quality sound
This appears to be the same product I bought years ago under a different brand name. That recorder was a BOOCOSA Model # VR-001 with half the storage space. For those with a discerning ear, and for those who appreciate the nuances, subtleties, and artistry involved in creating, producing, and recording fine music, this small recorder can make you feel like you are in a recording studio. However, to get the best sound, you would be wise to purchase a set of headphones that will likely cost at least twice what you paid for this recorder. But, since this device allowed me immediate access to a library of hundreds of songs I stored on it, the added cost of a set of high quality headphones was well worth it.I listen primarily to smooth jazz and I use the recorder when I am reading the newspaper, walking, bike-riding, using an exercise bike, doing light yard work, or just relaxing on the deck. I rate the sound quality on a scale of 1 to 5. Level #5 is "recording studio" quality where the sound is superb, multi-layered, and in stereo. The vocals are clear and rich, the lead guitar, saxophone soloist, percussionist, background vocals, and background instrumentals make you feel as though you are in the recording studio with them live. The beat of the base guitar can be felt in your feet and toes. The ear phones supplied are designed for convenience and are not designed to deliver the highest quality sound and they serve their purpose well. I placed the recorder in a pocket on my backpack, attached the ear phones, and enjoyed the music while I rode my bike. To reach level #4 ("indoor concert") quality or higher, a set of high end headphones is highly recommended. If you are sitting in a recliner, or on a deck or patio at home, the earphones supplied by the manufacturer will produce a level #3 or "car stereo" quality sound. That would be pretty good for most people. If you are riding your bike on the street or on a bike trail, the best you can hope for is a level 1 or "portable AM radio" quality sound. However, since the primary objective of a bike ride is exercise, scenery, and a safe return home, level 1 quality should suffice. In fact, being able to hear the ambient sound of wind, approaching cars, and warnings from fellow bikers & pedestrians, are all keys to a safe ride.I was able to easily load music stored on my computer as MP3 files into the BESUE using the Windows Media player. I have also used the recorder to help create the minutes for a recent zoom meeting I attended. I placed the recorder on pause when typing notes and pressed play to continue. So far, I really enjoy the recorder. I haven't tried all of its capabilities. If, or when, I do try other applications, I will add another review.

A very smart device for me, not sure for you
I read all reviews before the order, pros and cons, to avoid myself be that unlucky dog. Finally i decided to give a try after reading seller profile cause they seems like a professional audio manufacturer which really important for me.There are some details,FYI,.. you are welcome.Quality level: quite nice as mentioned by others. It’s metal instead of plastic and personally i believe it will last for years.Button designing: i used to consider a simple one like a pen or usb style but i really worry about the recording quality. I never see SONY have those and there must be a reason like sound wave transmission. Ok, get back to the buttons since i finally decided to try this complicated one. It has buttons on 3 sides, the left side for power-on/off and A-B repeat(this is very important because it’s also for single file delete), the right side for recording on/off, and the front for select/confirm/volume. Seems like too much, but, you are wrong if you ever used kind of multi-function recorder like a SONY. So, the buttons as well operation is humanization enough especially you have experience. But i don’t like the “click” sound, it make you like telling people “ready? Record start!!!!”Instruction: Actually i don’t really need it because i used to own a sony and the operation logic is very similar. But still i go through it just in case anything different. It’s too much and i spend almost 15 mins and it makes me more confused because it gives the operations steps for all functions again and again which actually the same thing. It’s wasting my time and i really shouldn’t have read it!!!! So, i complain to the service team, they apologize and let me download a new version online. Alright, this one is much better.Function:everything works fine as mentioned by others. Recording sound is very clear, that’s all. I don’t want to argue so-called stereo on this device, it’s record or ipod nano? Yes, i agree that the sound with mic is good enough but i would never use it for music and a bluetooth speaker is much better for me. A-B repeat function is very important for me and no complains on this. The only thing you need to know is this small round button is not for repeat only, you will need it also when you want to delete single files as i mentioned above. Talk about the bitrate, just keep it at 1536kpbs, don’t worry about the 16GB memory not enough unless you want to record weeks. For AVR function, so-called voice activated, it’s good (actually it’s nothing new, sony always have it from decade ago) but i don’t like it. The manufacturer does mentioned in instructions that don’t use it for important recordings in case you loss some sound. If so, why should we have this? I think this function is usefully 10 years ago when most voice recorders just have 1GB or 4GB memory but i don’t understand why it still there since you got 16GB memory now. So, interesting function but really don’t recommend you turn it on.Accessories: nothing else but earphones. Quality is acceptable but i expected for a better one. Conclusion: quality, recording clarity, operation and service perfect. Packing, earphone and button just acceptable. If it’s just match your budget, buy it.

Very Good product. Good Value. Some minor inconvenience.
Package is very good. Unboxing experience feels close to premium. You get that slow opening feel from premium phones. Comes with USB cable and earphones which i appreciate..DesignThe voice recorder itself looks alright. Im not a fan of the design, because i personally prefer minimalist, and simple. But being made of metal, items feels durable. It is ideally sized for a voice recorder, compact but easy to operate. One thing that needs improvement here are the buttons. They click too loud considering that this records audio with mic in the device. I dont like recording starting and ending with a loud *click click*.OperationOperation logic is easy, but not for everyone. Especially nowadays that touch controls is a normal for most people. It will take 15mins to 1hr as learning curve to get used to it. I think that is reasonable time. Besides that it comes with a easy to understand user guide.FunctionsRecording quality is very good. Deep lows and clean highs. I am not very convinced about the stereo separation of the left and right microphone though. One mic just sounds louder than the other.16gb is plenty for my music collection. I did not even fill half of that. Music function is easier to use because the buttons make more sense for this function.AVR works. It will start recording if i make a sound. And A-B loop works like a charm! This is my favorite function. I use it for writing guitar tablature of my favorite songs. Repeating areas of the audio that i missed can easily be selected to playback in a loop.Bonus functions: Alarm clock, and automatic record with start time and end time. This is potentially useful (while i cannot think of a good scenatio to use these myself yet).Overall, it is a good product. I can totally see the thoughtfulness of the design. Whatever it says it can do, it does it well. But could be better in some areas for more convenience. Example is - I wish they had included compatibility with 4-ring earphones to give me options to use microphone in earphones as well. And also usb-c for data transfer and charging. Just so i dont have to use exclusive earphones and cable just for one more device.

Sturdy build quality but more difficult to use than expected
As a writer and lecturer I rely on a digital recorder. I own several older Olympus VN-702PC recorders that use AAA batteries, which do not last long. I therefor bought this rechargeable recorder because the internal lithium battery lasts longer and can be easily recharged without losing date and time settings. I also bought the Besue because it was described as having one-key recording ability. Not so. To make a voice recording, the user must first use a small slide on the left side to turn on the recorder. Simple enough. However, before doing so, one must confirm that a red slider on the right side is switched to Record rather than Save. If switched to Save, this red switch must then be switched to Record. The recorder then immediately begins to record, allowing no time to set the recorder in place on a table, etc. To stop the unexpected recording, the user can then push the large Pause/Play button. This will Pause the recording, which can then be returned to Record with another push of Pause/Play. However, if the recorder is left in Pause the screen goes blank after several seconds. To restart Record mode, one must push the Pause/Play button not once but twice, once to turn on the screen display and a second time to restart Record mode. For me this does not constitute one-key operation. Finally, I also assumed the two mics on top of the Besue meant it recorded in stereo. I use a Zoom H2n stereo recorder for interviews and the stereo comes in handy during transcription when there are more than one interviewee. For these reasons I am returning this otherwise sturdy device.
