Great tool
I bought this to replace a 15 year old Bosch jigsaw that I had completely worn out. I went with the more expensive model because of bosch’s new technology that is supposed to help keep the blade held more rigidly. This was one of the reasons I liked the Bosch jigsaw in the first place, if they had improved even more, I’m here for it! I do custom carpentry and I often make things in the field that others would make in the shop- and probably use a bandsaw for.First look- It’s lighter than my old unit, there’s some plastic exterior where the older one had metal, and the plastic shoe that was removable on the old saw is screwed in place on the new one. But- higher amperage, quieter, super smooth operation, same super long cord, neat cord stress management, LED LIGHTS (Hallelujah!!!)I made a few straight cuts with it and was impressed. Then I sent it with my padre a to spend nearly two full work days cutting out large radius patterns out of 3/4 advantech to make trusses for a barrel ceiling. I was disappointed to see a little wane in some of his cuts- but on further inspection he had bent the included Bosch blade and just kept using it. I swapped it out for a more aggressive and stiff festool blade and things improved dramatically.Very nice saw. It’s got a fairly hefty price tag, but if it lasts as long as my last one It’ll be the only brand I ever buy.

Quality saw
Premium jigsaw, used to cut 3/4 plywood. Made two full size nativity scenes, it powered right thu even on long cuts, plus the light is helpful.

Great jigsaw at a steal of a price!
I started looking at getting a jigsaw right after Christmas, to be used on a home improvement project in the late spring or summer. I like getting good tools for current projects so they'll be around for other uses afterward. I had in mind to get a Bosch JS470E, or maybe (preferred option, if I could find one for sale) a used 1590EVS, the last of the Swiss-made top-of-line jigsaws that preceded the JS572. While doing that research, I noticed Amazon had the JS572EK on sale, in a Bosch plastic case, 33% off list, which was only $15 more than the JS470E, and less than I could find a 10-year-old 1590EVS on eBay in what I could only hope was good shape. So I spent a little more than planned and got the JS572. That seems to have been a flash sale: the price was back to normal a day later. It wasn't sold as renewed, all packaging and paperwork was as new, and there was no sign of use, so I believe it was new product.I've only done some test cuts in construction-grade 1/2" plywood and mystery-wood 2x4's, but am really impressed with how smooth it is. I look forward to more experience when the project begins. I also bought the Bosch JA1011 Steel Overshoe, and the plastic shoe extension after reading reviews.

Agile, Accurate & Lightweight
I am blown away with this jigsaw! I was stuck as my SKILSAW had missing pieces and I did not want to bother finding the parts for it. Luckily this Bosch Power Tools Jigsaw Kit was all I needed with the addition of longer precision blades to get through the thickness of the wood for the Pergola I was building for my daughter. It's light enough for me so that I don't get tired holding it and super precise in its cutting aspects. It was between this D style handle and the Barrel handle. I chose the D Style as I felt I would have more control in awkward spaces. I also did not want any loss of power at any time so I went with the dedicated power cord instead of the battery charged model, and it made it a lighter load and so tiring to operate as well.

Can't be stored with the blade inserted
The blow-molded case does not afford sufficient clearance for storing the tool with the blade remaining. By no means a deal breaker, but I was expecting better from Bosch. The vibration mitigation, on the other hand, is absolutely delightful and allowed me to operate the saw one-handed.

Easily the best jig saw on the market.
This jig saw is super easy to use. It can be adjusted in several different ways, has a variable speed, and a pressure sensitive speed trigger. I like that I can really be precise with this jig saw. Gone are the days of getting "just rough cuts" with a jig saw. This thing is nearly as accurate as a scroll saw. Granted you need to know what you're doing.I really wish Bosch included the metal foot plate, however. I also purchased a different set of blades than what came with the saw. I believe it comes with "fast" blades but I opted for "precision" blades instead. I love this jig saw.

Good home tool.
To install the zero clearance plate is plastic. You have to play with it to seat. Other than that it's a great tool.

Great tool for the price
This is one of the better jigsaws on the market and I think it deserves all the positive reviews it receives here and elsewhere on the web. I’ve had mine for a few months now and it handled everything I’ve thrown at it. This being a well made corded tool that I will only use occasionally, I think it will outlive me with no batteries or charging system to worry about.I wish that that Bosch would ship these saws in Systainers or even in Bosch’s own nicer “BOXX” cases instead of the cheap thin plastic case this came in, and that it was still made in Switzerland (it is now made in Hungary), but that would drive up the price considerably. At the current sale price of $169 shipped this is a great buy IMO.
