Favorite disaster movie
This is my favorite disaster movie - "Apocalypse Pompeii". It stars, Adrian Paul, Jhey Castle, Georgina Beedle, and John Rhys-Davies."Apocalypse Pompeii" arch of the story is that Jeff, former special ops commando, has retired and is spearheading the next phase in his life - what to do after retirement from the military. You guessed it, he opens a security firm and while his wife, Lynn, and daughter, Mikala, are on holiday in Italy seeing the tourist sites including Pompeii, he will be presenting a sales pitch for his starter business security firm while too in Italy with his family. While, presenting his sales pitch the volcano in Pompeii erupts...With Jeff's family trapped at ground zero, Jeff will need to pool all his resources to get them out of harms way or in this case nature's fury. Jeff luckily has friends that are willing to help...commando, black oops, stealth like style, since the Italian government has banned all rescue operations to ground zero...Will Jeff rescue Lynn and Mikala in time? Will Colonel Dillard be court marshalled? All questions...answered.I highly recommend this movie. The special effects are pretty good for a B disaster movie. The lava seemed so life like, it almost felt like a living, breathing entity with the way it crept up and pulled people in. Very spooky. Still...great movie if you like disaster movies.

A Good Cheap Disaster Film
Okay this wouldn't be my favorite disaster film. Adrian Paul (Highlander TV Series) did okay. He was a little stiff at first but he loosen up a bit. John Rhys-Davies (Raiders Of The Lost Ark, Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade & The Lord Of The Rings films) did pretty good. His lines were really funny. The effects were good. The Asylum does a great job of cheap films. I would recommend it if you're into these cheap disaster films. Good movie to watch when you got nothing else to watch.

Despite its flaws it was still enjoyable.
I'm probably overrating this with 4 stars, but what the heck. I did like it...overlooking some special effects flubs and artificial tension stretchers. And who goes on a tour of a city that was buried in a volcanic eruption without knowing anything about volcanoes? Evidently even tour guides. But fortunately there was a teenage girl (?) along who knew exactly what to do to save everybody. Of course her mother was useless - even before she sprained her ankle - but then we knew that long before the volcano erupted. I was impressed by the one guy getting taken out (uh...the graphics I mean) because it was a lot better than the shot where a woman is obviously yanked from the side a little too slowly. But overall, I liked this movie...and that's what 4 stars means!

Could become a favorite classic in so many of its elements.
I really enjoyed from start to finish. It also had its teachable moments. What if the daughter didnt know enough of volcanos like everyone else? Their chance for survival was quite slim. The flow of energy and excitement was maintained for the most part throughout the movie. And I admire a male protagonist who demonstrates such deep and abiding love for his wife and child. I know its a movie and ideals can become real only in movies but its "ideals" that inspire us often to take baby steps to make our little versions of whats good and harmonious that can bring joy in our lives within the framework of our realities.

Okay for Asylum
I have to admit that I love watching crappy movies, with plot holes big enough to drive semis through, preposterous science, and so so acting, but this one is pretty good for an Asylum offering. Especially when you factor in that it stars Adrian Paul, who is still so good looking!, and John Rhys-Davies. I have to admit, it hurts my heart to see Rhys-Davies in this type of movie, but I guess you have to pay the bills somehow. But he doesn't have to be too ashamed of this effort. The science is there, it's just funny how it's interpreted, and by whom. A teenager who has more answers than Bill Nye, the Science Guy, I don't think so. And flying a helicopter through an cloud of ash without going down, nah. But whoever said that Asylum movies made sense. That's the fun of them. So if you have an hour and a half to waste and about four bucks, this is for you.

Been there Done That
If you are not an expert on volcanoes or been to Pompeii.. (dramatic pause) Don't say how bad this film is! I have studied volcanoes and written a paper (which I got an A+ on) about Vesuvius. I also have been there! There was some stretch of science and normal Hollywood cinema action, but this was an excellent film. What happened as cinematic tricks in this were no worse than a standard James B. film. Its easy to criticize, but do it from experience, not just empty opinion. By the way, the girl's information on the St. Pierre Volcano was accurate. All but 1 died and he was in a prison.

Owlbee , pleasantly surprised
Had a feeling about this one, not a bad movie at all for grade B. It flows well (sorry could not resist that one). Keeps the tension going plus a nice little lesson on how to survive volcano's. Acting is good and you do care for the victims. The ending was a bit weak but expected. Not too shabby I enjoyed it.

Modern Day Pompeii Disaster Movie
I had seen this on the SyFy channel, but enjoyed watching it again. Pretty decent special effects, not too bad a story, and the acting was pretty good. It starred Adrian Paul, which is always a treat. He was awesome in the Highlander movies, and also the War of the Worlds TV series.

A Terrible Film. To Waste Your Money On.
I usually give a good write up if I think the film deserves it. I am afraid to say, this film is a complete waste of time. I advise anyone not to buy it and save your money. An ex SAS man basically is running and driving all over Pomeii to rescue his wife and daughter. The special effects are low budget. I don't know what they spent on making this film, but it shows. Don't waste your time with this one. There are much better films out there to watch. I buy and watch a lot of films. Mainly good quality films. I like giving a review if I think the film is interesting to watch. I am just over 65 and love watching films. My view, a waste of time buying and watching this film. Other people on here are saying really the same as I am. PC. 28. 12. 2017. PS I could go as far as to say its rubbish.

Admittedly I bought this because I saw the name Adrian Paul and thought Aaron Paul...
I do love a good disaster movie. And whilst this film is hardly good, it's not as dire as it could have been. I thought that I had sworn off of disaster movies from The Asylum since I made the mistake of buying Megafault, but this Asylum disaster movie is better than that mess. Obviously the visual effects are not even close to Dante's Peak / Volcano but for the budget they are quite impressive and fairly thrilling. At 1 hour and 24 minutes the film doesn't drag at all. And any film with John Rhys Davies in it is a film worth watching, if only the once. And, whilst he's no Aaron, Adrian Paul makes for a rather good action hero. Obviously this is a low budget take on Paul WS Anderson's Pompeii 3D, which itself was horribly slated on its release, and this interpretation of Vesuvius erupting, though here not in ye olden times, is shockingly ghastly. For all the wrong reasons. But I have seen far, far worse so it's not all bad. And, hey, at least the 'acting' here is better than SpiceWorld: The Movie.

Apocalypse Pompey.
A very interesting telling of an entirely plusable story, considering that Pompey was obliterated by a volanic eruption, during the time of the Roman Empire, it was 79AD that these events occurred, the question to be asked is, could it happen once again, entirely within the boundaries of realistic possibility.
