Did not live up to advertising
First off, in terms of pack size this is very impressive. It's hard to believe it inflates as large as it does, considering this very compact packed size.I did not have a pump, and you will definitely want one. I just inflated one side to test, and was pretty winded inflating by lung pressure. No criticism here, they don't advertise or advocate blowing it up with your lungs. It's also not real good to be putting a lot of moisture in the pad, but I wanted to test it out before buying one of the more expensive pumps.Realistically there's about 17 inches of width per person, and that was just too tight for me, and also a dealbreaker. Length seemed good. I found it took a slightly different pressure for sleeping on your side vs sleeping on your back. It's either one or the other, but not both. If it was a bit wider, I think they would have a real winner here.In terms of durability, the material is super light weight. I can easily see this being punctured and realistically I don't see it holding up for the long haul. In terms of price, I think it's really ridiculous what these things cost. I realize there's a lot of technology here, but in terms of material, you don't get much.As a solo pad, now you're talking, and you could possibly inflate one side for side sleeping in the other for laying flat. As a duo, perhaps if you're a really tiny person, otherwise I just don't see it having enough room to be comfortable. The thing is more like a twin bed in size, not a full. So, if you go in with the expectation of a luxurious solo pad, you would probably like it. I think there's better value in solo pads though. This is no duo pad, so it really doesn't live up to the advertisement of being a duo.

Really really love this. At first it seemed like a "luxury" ...
Really really love this. At first it seemed like a "luxury" item, but I'm now including it in the "necessity" column. If you like to backpack with your significant other (or extremely lucky dog) this sleeping pad is awesome!I've tried a few different types of dual sleeping pads - the ones that you can marry together never seem to work because I move around a lot and I always end up angry and cold in a weird gap. We've also used the big blow-up mattresses, but those are car camping only because they're huge. The Duo is the best of both - it's super lightweight (it actually only weighs a few ounces more than my one person BA sleeping pad) and packs down really small, taking up roughly one and a half nalgene bottles' worth of space (to use my favorite form of measurement).Amazingly, for being so tiny and light, this thing is like a backcountry Serta. I'm a sleep thrasher AND a side sleeper so the deck is stacked against me for backpacking-sleeping, but the Duo is actually super comfy to sleep on, even on my side. The cool thing about it is that though it's one continuous pad for two people, there are actually two separate valves so you can inflate each person's side individually. This is rad for two reasons... one: it keeps the other person from feeling it as much when you shift around, and two: you can inflate each side to your own preference. My boyfriend is a back sleeper and likes his pad filled to the gills. Since I sleep on my side, I like a little give, so I fill it up then let a little air out.The insulation in it keeps you nice and toasty - as a cold sleeper I'd say it more of a three-season pad on its own, but if you throw an emergency blanket underneath it to reflect a little heat it would totally work in winter (we have a tarp with one reflective side that we use for snow camping - works great!)The schnozzel (purchased separately) to inflate it is really cool, and you can use it separately as a dry bag. You can get a lot more air into the pad in one go and because you're using ambient air and not blowing into it, your pad doesn't get full of swampy people-breath.All in all, I'm totally amped on this sleeping pad. The only thing I wish was different was that the schozzel was included in the purchase price!

no-brainer for side sleepers that wan't comfort without to much of a weight penalty!
This pad is amazing for the R-value...and weight. I am an avid backpacker that values a good nights sleep. If I don't sleep well than the rest of the trip won't be optimal for me. That being said...the extra weight is so worth it...and honestly...it's not THAT much extra for what you get in width and comfort. I am a side sleeper ...that will NOT sleep in a cocoon sleeping bag. I use a an ultralight quilt....soooooo..specifics....i weighed this on a postal scale...by itself...with a rubber band around it and not in its bag 28.1 ounces....with the exped schnozzel (recommend) about 30.4 ....and with cocoon travel sheets 35.4.....I carry this combo...so...again..yes..more weight..BUT...so worth it......inflating this mat with the schnozzel takes sooooo little time...and using the cocoon travel sheets I don't get everything "clammy".......side note...I have used this with a girlfriend and used two sleeping bags zipped together...we had PLENTY of room...I am 6'1", 215....she is 5'4" 105....I will never go back to a 20", 25"...even 30" pad like the klymit Luxe....I tried that...(amazing pad)...but for only less than 5 ounces more this pad gives you increased r-value and about 5-10 inches more width (this pad tapers). I have used this down to about 34 degrees....zero cold issues coming from the ground. The con's....a little more weight (worth it to me)...the width (pro and con...takes up real estate in your tent)...inflating (without schnozzel this would take awhile...two separate chambers)...honestly that is it as far as con's for ME.....IF you are a side sleeper and a bigger person you WILL love this....for me the extra pound is worth it on my back....no question about it....If you don't want to spend the extra money for this pad....look at the klymit luxe...it just won't give you much of an r-value....there is an insulated klymit luxe...but I believe that one by itself is 35 ounces?...so no real comparison uless winter camping...than...the insulated klymit would be totally worth the weight!
