Terrific DJ phones
I do some DJ. I've had various AudioTechnica and Sony headphones over the years. I bought the big Denons because I wanted the sound isolation and swivel-cup action to match beats. I am extremely satisfied. The comfort and practicality are spot-on, I find them very comfortable to wear over just one ear. I couldn't imagine higher quality. The sound quality for the intended purpose is perfect. Audiophiles might say they have a dull lifeless midrange, but the treble is accurate and the bass is fantastic.

Nice bass
A little tight. I wear glasses and starts to get a little uncomfortable at hour 2 of a set. Great sound and bottom.

bummed
I have had Dennon Pro DJ headphones for years and swear by them but I ordered these smaller diameter ones to go lighter and they are not the same. I was so bummed, they max out way too early. Ugh

It’s a very good headphones, covers the ear which allow to eliminate most of exterior noise, good sound quantity a little bit less Bass than Pioneer HD-500 but is not a bid deal for me. I recommend.

Good sound, but there's a few things I would have liked ...
The Denon DJ HP 600 headphone is the latest in a series of three new headphones in their DJ lineup including the HP 800 and HP 1100.When I first took the HP 600’s out of the box I thought the earcups were quite small for DJ headphones, which tend to be over the ear and provide good noise isolation. The HP’s just about cover my ears, if they were any smaller they would be on the ear headphones rather than over the ear. I tested the sound isolation by wearing them while cutting the lawn and I have to say that I could barely hear the engine noise and my music was not turned up that high. Denon did a decent job at noise isolation. I would imagine that the HP-1100’s with the thicker pads do even a better job, but that is only speculation.Comfort level is good, I’ve been wearing these headphones for hours for several days now and did not feel any “clamping” on my head, the band has a layer of memory foam under the soft fake leather that I’m sure helps a lot, the ear capsules themselves however could use a little more padding, but that’s what the next two models up offer, so I guess you get what you pay for in that respect. At first I was not pleased with the sound quality of these headphones. Denon always tends to emphasize more of the midrange of the spectrum, which makes vocals and guitars sound a bit punchier. I also thought the high frequencies sounded a bit squishy and not as crisp and clean as I would like. Bass response was good and tight, not exaggerated. If the song lacked bass it was not present in the headphone, but if there was good deep bass it was represented quite well, without being overpowering. After a while I got used to the sound from the HP 600’s and now I like the way the headphones sound. In time I found out that the squishy sounding high end was more of reflection of the quality of the recording and not the headphones. These headphones have no mercy if a bad mp3 is played the headphone’s high resolution picks that up, where other headphones might even the sound out a bit. I got to appreciate that the HP 600’s were giving me the true sound so I learned to like them. I even got used to a slightly higher midrange sound. The Denon DJ HP-600’s come with a microfiber bag for storage and transport, not a hard case, which I would have preferred. The half coiled cord does not detach from the headphones, and the 3.5 mm plug assembly may be too big for some phone cases if being used with a smartphone. There is a screw on ¼ inch plug for use with professional equipment, which was a feature on an old pair of replacement Sony headphones that I had with my cassette Walkman, so it is really not that innovative. I would have preferred a better strain relief on the headphone part of the cable, but the plug’s is decent. The headphones swivel in one direction, away from you if the headphones are worn correctly. I would have preferred them to swivel in both directions. The swivel mechanism seems sturdy, but it is made of plastic and not metal, so only time will tell. Overall though, I do like the Denon DJ HP-600’s.
