Great starter kit
Have reloaded hundreds of rounds with this kit. Definitely worth the price. Doesn’t include a few items and came with a few pieces that require additional equipment to use. I don’t much care for the Lee case lube it comes with either.

Lee is a brand I trust
Lee is the brand that stands out because it gives you all you need to reload at an affordable price. They have the best business philosophy and practice where they make the customer the center of attention. I got this kit and an happy with it. I recommend a digital scale be added even though the scale that comes in the kit is quite accurate and I use it too. Lee is the brand I trust. Get his reloading manual too.

Great Buy
The press: the press gets five stars. It seems like good quality. I have reloaded close to four-hundred cartridges with it already without issue from the press.Priming mechanism: the self-priming mechanism is clever and nifty. My only complaint is that I think that the plastic connecting piece to the press could easily break with time.Hand case trimmer: this is a clever idea to save expenses. It’s perfect for my present budget. I noticed a variability after trimming cases, though, of about 0.010 inches. This was a little more than I would like. Because of this variability, I will be purchasing a Higher quality trimmer in the future.Volume powder charger: this was the only piece of equipment that I disliked. Throughout my four-hundred loaded cartridges I never was able to get the powder charger to throw precise loads. One would be way too low, the next would be too high, etc. I was using a stick powder that is more difficult to run through a volume charger. If I have different results with ball or flake powders, I’ll update the review.Scale: I’m on the fence about the scale. The beam containing the tenths of a grain adjustment does seem flimsy completed to the rest of the scale. As I mentioned before, I had issues getting consistent weights from my powder charger. I did wonder if the issue might be with the scale. I’m less inclined to think that it’s the scale rather than the powder charger, though. All the same, I will probably replace the scale in future years. I like mechanical (rather than digital) scales best (such as this one), but I wonder if other companies might make higher quality scales.Summary: the press is wonderful. The other components will last me at least several years. While I may end up replacing some items, this is a terrific starter kit, and I would definitely buy it again.Additional items to buy: while not essential I do recommend buying a lube pad. Lubing by hand is tiresome and time consuming.

After a year I am still very happy with it
I've owned this kit for just about a year now and can say it is a great introduction to a wonderful hobby. A little background, my work keeps me busy and multitasking is my life. Reloading is an activity which compels you to focus on one thing which allows me to relax. I'm also cheap and buying retail ammo is expensive. Consequently reloading saves my sanity and pocketbook! If you are looking to crank out the ammo, this may not be the kit for you. This single stage press allows me to load around 100 pistol rounds an hour once everything is set up. Let's look at what you get and how well it works (IMHO). 1) The press, awesome. Can't say enough about it. I load rifle and pistol rounds without a problem. Buy plenty of extra quick lock bushings, you will need them. If you continue down the reloading path and purchase faster presses, a single stage is always nice to have on your bench for loading odd rifle rounds or depriming brass before you clean it. 2) Powder Measure, very good but not great. Considering other powder measures are 2 to 3 times the cost you really can't go wrong with this little device. Once it is dialed in, I rarely get more than +/- 0.1 grain variance when I spot check it. I don't run my loads hot so I'm usually under the max charge amount by a couple of tenths. Some powders work better than others and the ones that don't work well also tend to leak out a little. 3) Priming (Safety Prime) - you prime on the bench during the deprime and resizing stage. I found it a little aggravating at first but have gotten use to it. You push this arm onto the priming tool and it places a primer onto it. Too much or too little pressure and the primer will fall out and onto the floor (ugh!). After 500 rounds you get use to how much pressure is needed and you don't drop them as much if at all. I've never used the hand priming tool so I can't say which is better. 4) Scale - better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick, but not by much. I'm not a balance beam fan so anyone of these type scales is a pain in my book. I hear some people say these scales are better than the electronic ones but I disagree. For the time savings alone, save this scale for rifle or more precision weighing and use a digital scale for everything else. 5) Funnel - Simple and can't live without it. 6) Everything else (case trimming tools and primer pocket cleaning thingy) Meh! For pistols you really don't need to worry about case trimming (purest will disagree). I deprime before I clean my brass and never really needed to ream out the primer pocket.I would consider this kit fairly comprehensive and a decent introduction to reloading. Highly Recommended!!!
