Crock Cooking for One Can be Easy, Flavorful, and Fun!
I originally purchased the Little Dipper Crock Pot to serve samples of Lil Smokies with a variety of sauces.I decided to experiment and see what could be prepared in this little crock pot. After searching on line for recipes and not finding much, I've embarked on a mission to create recipes that anyone can do.The two drawbacks on this purchase are; The plastic black lid and no removable crock for easy cleaning.I resolved the cleaning issue by cutting 'small crock pot liner' in half and placing it snuggly in the unit. I used an elastic headband to secure the liner. I used a headband with 2 hair ties (yes, all were new and clean) to secure the lid. I made the perfect pot of Brown Rice.Lined the pot and plugged it in to warm while adding ingredients in the following order1 T. Butter, 3/8 c. Brown Rice (rinsed until water ran clear), 7/8 c. WaterPlaced the lid on top and secured it. I set the timer for 3 hours.****DO NOT OPEN LID UNTIL COOKING TIME HAS ENDED**** opening the lid releases the heat that has built up inside. In doing this you increase the cooking time or may wind up with mush. When the timer sounded, I removed the lid and was pleasantly surprised. I used my digital food thermometer to check the 'internal temperature'. The temperature was at 191 degrees. Believe it or not, the rice was fluffed using the single prong of the digital thermometer. I rated the product 1 star for easy to clean because as a single unit without using a crock pot liner, it isn't easy to clean. I would recommend it for individual use or for serving warmed dips at parties.

Great for Overnight Oatmeal
My New Year's resolutions have included "improve my diet" for the last 40 years. I like oatmeal and I know I should eat it more often, , but I'm not a morning person, and I don't enjoy cooking it in the morning. I bought this little pot to make overnight oatmeal. I use regular oats (not instant) and place a scant 1/2 cup of oats and a full cup of water in the pot before I go to bed at night. I also add a handful of raisins. I have tried adding brown sugar, also, but the sugar burned, so I add it in the morning. This is the second Little Dipper I have purchased; the first one I gave to my granddaughter who is at college. We both love the convenience of waking up to cooked oatmeal. Next I plan to try steel-cut oats. They usually take about 30 minutes to cook on the stove, so I don't often spend the time to do that. I think they will do well with overnight cooking.

Great little appliance!
Love this little guy! I add cinnamon sticks, cloves, apple or orange slices to water and warm it to add a fragrance to the kitchen in the autumn. This is the perfect size for it, and very easy to use and clean. It only holds a few cups, so if you were going to use for dip, keep in mind it's perfect for a small amount only. If I were going to use it for food, I'd want to get at least two.
