This products blows! ... Literally
So I'm a huge fan of Dewalt products and have most of the 20v line of tools. Not all but a LARGE number of black and yellow gadgets fill up my garage shelves. I have one acre of property and a large driveway and two decks to maintain. I have a gas powered Husqvarna 29.5cc 2-Cycle 145 Mph 430.84 Cfm Medium-Duty Gas Backpack Leaf Blower as my primary go to workhorse. That being said, if I want to quickly blow out my garage workshop, driveway, walkway, decks or basic cleanup I don't want to go to my shed and fire up my gas powered beast for a small job. I intended all along not to replace my backpack blower for the big jobs rather to supplement that tool for most of the smaller day to day jobs. Well, my prayers were answered yesterday with this blower. I popped in a 6 amp hour battery and went to work. I blew out all the dust and dirt of my two car garage in seconds at full power. I then moved onto my driveway that was mostly covered in snow and still wet. There was a dry area in the turn around and I was shocked how well this thing works. I was able to do a fantastic job cleaning wet pine needles, we leaves, rocks, puddles, sticks with ease with this blower. It would take more time to clear my driveway but I truly believe that this thing could replace my backpack blower for driveway work. I love the lockout feature to simply turn it on full blast and go and the noise is NOTHING compared to a gas engine. I don't think it will cut the mustard for yard work where sticks and twigs are stuck in long grass but I'm willing to give it a try. I love the instant on and no fumes of battery powered tools. I have no plans to get rid of my backpack blower for large jobs but I think it will get used a whole lot less because of my new Dewalt blower. I'm 100% satisfied with this tool and its exceeded my expectations in every way possible. Great buy...

Works great if you know what to use it for...
This thing is awesome....if you understand what you are getting. I think of this thing as a "Power Broom" not a leaf blower. If you buy it for what it is...great tool. If you buy it with the wrong expectations...you will find it to be a piece of junkWhat this is good for:Cleaning of the driveway after you mow.Cleaning of your deck or patio from some leaves and other debris that fell on it.Cleaning your garage floor real quick.Blowing some excess water off your car after you wash it so there isn't so much to dry.Blowing SMALL amounts of leaves (probably dry) out of corners and alcoves around your house.Cleaning up after a small project (ie - blowing saw dust off the floor, ground, etc...)What this is probably NOT good for:Moving large amounts of debris and leaves (especially wet stuff). I recently moved, but used to live in the city. Standard city lot, had one large tree that dropped a ton of leaves, plus blow over from neighbors from time to time. I did NOT own this blower at the time, but if I would have I would have hated it. Even if I would have gone out every day after work and blew the leaves off the lawn I think I still would have been wasting my time. If you have a lot to move get a back pack blower and make your life easy.If you need something for quick easy hassle free clean ups...this is a great tool. Battery life hold well when using, it moves a large amount of air so it's good for cleaning big surfaces of light debris. If you need to move anything heavy or stuck to the ground...look elsewhere.

Love this thing
So much more manageable and quiet than a gas powered one. I climbed up a ladder with this the other day and used it to clean out my gutters after a storm, it took about 2 minutes. Wouldn't have been easy or even possible with a gas blower, and would have taken a half hour to do by hand. I use this for my garage/yard/driveway on an acre of land. So far it works well on dust/dirt/grass clippings/small amounts of leaves. I think the real test will be this fall when I have a yard full of damp leaves. But it has plenty of power for everything else I've tried so I'm not that worried about it. Battery life is good with the 6ah battery. I've never timed a run all the way down from full, so I don't know for sure what overall battery life is. But I've heard it slowing down a couple times so I'm sure I've been close. That being said, if you had a bigger yard or expected to use it a lot, I can see where the battery would run down on you. I don't consider this an issue, as I'm "invested" into the DeWalt 20v max tool line, I've got a handful of spare batteries and chargers floating around.Another thought I just had. I burned my dinner once filled my kitchen with smoke. Didn't have a fan around, so opened a window, grabbed this, and used it to pull all the smoke out of the kitchen. It worked instantly like a charm. Couldn't do that with a gas blower...

This is perfect for my uses
This is perfect for my uses. I have a 20v Max 3.0 Ah battery from another DeWalt purchase and hoped it would suffice for my needs. I have a patio that is roughly 15 x 75, a set of 3 steps, and a sidewalk that runs another 25 feet or so. I live in a condo that has some large maple and pine trees which keep this area pretty well covered with little helicopter seeds, needles, and pollen throughout the year, and the landscapers our community hires only come around every so often. I needed a tool that could easily clean up this space. If I use the switch that keeps the tool on constantly, I need to recharge after every blow-off. But if I feather it by hand I can usually get two uses out of it before I need to recharge. I've been really happy with the power of this tool. I was half excited for the first opportunity to use it on really wet leaves, and it performed admirably - although it certainly is going to take a little longer and a little more juice. I started with a battery that had about 1/2 drained and I'd guess that I used about 1/2 the power on the next, so one full 3.0 Ah battery for a tougher, wet job that's probably a little bit over 1000 sq ft. I'm happy as can be with this thing, and as a side note, my father is too. It made cleaning wet leaves out of his gutters a snap, and he's already got a reservation to borrow it again next time around.

Exactly what I was expecting
This 20 volt blower arrived faster than expected and then outperformed some of the reviews that I had read. I took a chance on this one based on my positive experiences with other 20 volt Dewalt tools. I was not disappointed. I used the 5 ah battery that I already had and was using this tool within minutes of it arriving. I gave it the hardest task first: the wet leaves on the front lawn. Well; it blew them all away. Everything else was easy. I highly recommend this blower.

Covers wider swath but with little less blowing power then other model.
With the large nozzle opening covers a wider area but with less force. If looking for more blowing power buy other model with narrower nozzle with more targeting coverage and less overall coverage. This model works well for dry leaves but can't blow a large accumulated pile of leaves. Note battery life depends on what output power of battery one is using.

Great quality product
Light and quiet so easy to use and neighbor and people friendly (no need to wear hearing protection - even as the user). Axial blower gives the superior noise performance so a little bulkier to store than cheaper radial models. In general axial blowers are more reliable than radial and brushless technology (computer control) has been around for a good few years so I see no reason that this blower will not follow that trend - should work for 50+ years. Does use 1 battery power for about 1000 ft2 of driveway clearing (15 minutes) so multiple batteries need to be available for larger jobs.

Do not use for blowing snow
I have had this unit since mid fall, used it several times for blowing leaves and it works great. I don’t have any complaints with the battery runtime. My wife has been using it for blowing snow off the sidewalk and it works really well for doing that but one day she was mid job and it just simply stopped working. Warranty repair house says it is static electricity that fries the circuit board and not to use it in the dry winter air

Reasonably quiet and powerful blower.
So far this works very but I wish it had an attachment to concentrate the airflow into a flat pattern for blowing with more force to do snow clearing. Otherwise it worked well for leaves and was not too loud that I needed hearing protection. I bought a 6AH battery pack and I’m glad I did so. The 2AH batteries would not last enough to do the whole yard which would be a nuecence. I would recommend this product.
