Traeger Grills BAC351 22 Series Grill Rack

I was amazed we even got this thing in. You have to use the "self drilling" nails to drill through the metal inside the ledge of the Traeger. The way the Traeger is shaped, this is impossible with a regular size drill. If you could use a regular size drill this would be much easier. We had to go with a small drill that does not have the power to drill the nails through the metal, so this was quite challenging but it got done with lots of cussing involved. I watched a video online and someone used an angle drill which is not a common tool for me or anyone I know. Once getting the holes drilled, the extra rack was amazing and it's easy to remove if you are going to cook a chicken or turkey. The effort was worth it in the end but I wish there was an easier way to do this.

I received a Traeger Mesa 22 smoker/grill for Christmas. It didn’t come with the top shelf but I saw it on the Traeger website so I knew it was available. I LOVE my new Traeger and I am cooking with it almost every weekend so I can see I am going to need more space for cooking multiple things at the same time (potatoes, veggies, etc) that I want to keep separate from the main meat item on the lower grill. It could not be easier to instal as the grill comes with the shelf mounts already installed, you just drop the shelf in when you want to use it.

The grate included with this rack has the exact same build characteristics and quality as the main cooking grate on my Traeger Lil Tex Elite 22 (so no surprises there). It also fit right into the existing brackets that where preinstalled on my grill, so install was nothing more than placing it in the grill.That said, it would be nice if Traeger offered the "grate only" (without the brackets) at a reduced cost, for those of us who's grills already has the brackets installed.

PROS reasonably price, easy to install if you choose not to pit in the screw to hold the rack in place.CONS: made in China, hard to put extra screw in an area very hard to drill. See picture.Considering how much we paid for the grill, it should be included as opposed to an extra $35. Very hard to drill a hole into metal due to position of grill. Hole should have been predrilled.Took a star off for problem above.

I always wonder if these type of racks/trays will truly fit. This was perfect and east to use. Cooked two BIG briskets this weekend -- one on the lower large grill and one on this rack. It worked out perfectly. a bit tough to clean up the cooked on juices, but that's just normal grilling. I am very happy with it.

First, this does fit the Lil’ pig traeger grill. What wasn’t very clear was how this rack attached to the gril, once I got the instructions it turns out the sides screw down with self-tapping metal screws. I reccomend putting it together to test fit, then mark and drill pilot holes. It will make the job much easier. The rack itself is very well made, the same finish as the OEM rack. The sides are substantial and it detaches for easy cleaning or getting it out of the way of larger items. The only knock I can think of is that the grill should have come with it originally.

Bought for my Traeger Mesa 22 (Costco model). Fit well, but delivered with a dent and a chip in the porcelain coating, so I sent it back.

Great product. Came with extra hardware which I assume is for a different/older model. Very easy installation.
