bought this as a raspi pie modworks perfectly!!!im actually amazed i managed to solder directly to the termination/test pads but it worked. i added a power supply port to a raspi pie game hat build and this port serves as a direct power supply for the device. the current rating can handle powering both the game hat and the pie 3B+ under working/loaded conditions. i dont have to worry about plugging in now and forcing a reset on the device and it truly does make it (the build) as portable as a switchbeing its a USB-C, most chargers eith that periphery design in mind can supply upwards of 5 amps and be able to meet my devices demands(* the only drawback is that there wasnt a provision for mounting in any fashion - i knew this going in and had to work around this but if you plan on doing this mod to a raspi-hat i couldnt source one at the time of my build and a secure mount would definitely raise the level of ease and build quality)

Works well, but tricky to solder
I am using the male USB-C lead to power an RPi that controls an irrigation system. I attached the USB-C male connector to a 24v-to-5v converter. I only needed to solder VCC and GND wires on the male connector for this application. The soldering points are small and require some care when soldering, but have worked fine since. The price for USB-C connectors in general seem a bit high, and the price for these items were no exception to that. Both the male and female connectors are decent quality and securely connect to other USC-C components on other devices -- no play or connectivity issues once connected.

Works like a charm, exactly what I needed
These are perfect for DIY projects. I am using to charge batteries.Note: per usb 3.1 spec, power delivery and power consumption requires a microprocessor to communicate the protocol needed. I think using a reisistor on the D pins will allow 5v 1amp power, but I haven’t tested this. Currently my setups only work if there is a amp meter that only passes power. Not a big issue for me. Measuring 1.6amps via power only usb.

No instruction
This is only a connector with no instructions. I can not read the pin labels and the ones I can read are not standard. Yes this web site shows the connectors. BUT what is D- & D+???I found pin identifications on the Amazon site.

Worked well for what I needed
Purchased this primarily for the USB C female breakout board. Worked great for my Odroid Go Advance charging modification project. Quick tip, if all that’s needed is just 5v charging, you can cut the A10 and A11 side of the board to save some space when installing in space constrained areas.
