Amzing Product
My very picky, very finicky Dachshund just adores these! Yes they are a little smelly, but they hide the scent of the pills better that way! I don't think the smell is very strong, it's just stinky, so you only smell it if your face is close to the bag when you open it or after you give them the treats and the smell is on your fingers.(which can easily be cleaned off) My boyfriend used to use hotdogs to hide the medicine inside until we found out how bad it was for our dog's heart. High Sodium Alert! (I know this is commong sense for smart dog owners but we didn't know the hot dogs could send him into cardiac arrest! He hasn't touched a hotdog since the day we discovered these pill pockets!) Our vet who is a specialist in cardiology, recommended these because they hide the pills well and dogs LOVE the flavor and stinkiness of them!I'll admit, at first I was skeptical. My dog has a tendancy to play with his treats in his mouth until the pills fall out then swallow the treat and leave the pills behind. He refuses to eat any treats if he suspects at all that there is anything in it that is good for him. Sometimes, I would give him a "tester" and get his meds ready and give him a piece of cheese with no pills inside, but he was so sure he wasn't going to swallow pills, that he put it in his mouth then spit it right out! That stubborn dog (mule is more like it), spits out treats under the assumption that there is a pill in it even when there isn't! So I was sure that once I spent $10 on a pack of these at Pet Smart that is was gonna be a waste of money, but I was willing to try anything. Because my "problem child" also has allergies, I bought him the duck which is the stinkiest one but it is also hypoallergenic, and TADA! The first one I give him, he practically takes my finger off when he grabbed it! He eats it so fast he doesnt even swallow it! To this day, he has NEVER "inspected" these for pills and has NEVER spit one out!If you have not purchased these before, let me explain to you that they have these in different sizes and flavors. The Duck is the only hypo-allergenic on as of right now. The two sizes are Tablets and Capsules. On the front of the bag, they display which type it is under the photo of the product. The Tablet is the white round one and the bag weighs 2.6oz. Those are the smaller ones and are made for smaller tablet type pills. If you are giving small pills like furosemide or enalapril or cutting pills in halve or thirds, these will work for you. However, if you are fedding your dog variations of medication and include larger pills such as potassium (a large round tablet about the size of a nickel), then you will want the bad made for Capsules which is the 6.6oz bag. Those pill pockets are the same shape but are much LARGER than the other ones.*The SHAPE of the pill pocket does not change, Only the size changes* That is the only thing I found misleading because you would think that the tablet ones would be for your round pills and the capsules would be like a cylinder for elongated pills, but honestly, you can use either one for any pill, it all depends on the size. These pill pockets are VERY moldable and can be formed around the medicine. The good news is that if you accidentally buy the small ones, you can smush them together to hide larger pills. I like to do the reverse. I purchase the larger bag (capule size) since it's the same price and when I give him his tiny pills, I just cut one in half and put the small pills in it and cruch the pill pocket around the pills to hide them.Liek I said, my dog loves them so much that he doesn't even chew them! He literally just grabs them up and swallows them whole , no questions asked, no hesitations, and no "inspecting".CONCLUSION:These pill pockets are the best thing I have ever used for medicating my dog! Buying the Capsule Size is best in all situations (if they are the same price as the tablet sized ones) because you can cut them in half and make them last longer, and the stinkiness and order makes your dog love them even more and helps hide the scent of the medicine. It's a small price to pay and you don't have to smell them very long because your dog will devour them! They get a 10 out of 10 from me :D

A WONDERFULLY perfect product!
These are a GREAT product! I know I'm going to sound like a publicist here, but understand this comes from the heart of a man who was frequently frustrated by trying to get medication into a reluctant doggie. But no longer. Not since cheese slices has there been a product that aids dogs and (in its feline counterpart) cats take pills better than this. As most anyone who has a pet knows, getting your favorite little Fluffy to take a pill can sometimes be a Herculean task. And even if you argue that you can come up with this product or that (like cheese, say) that works as well, I ask you if they are as easily transportable or produce-able as this: cheese or meat slices require refrigeration, and others might come in a less-than-desirable state like being gooey (like peanut butter) or having to be made (like tuna, for instance). Greenes solves all of these problems in a great little ready-to-eat and easily transportable product. With the possible exception of this exact flavor -- DUCK (well, Duck & Pea, actually) -- which I admit is about as pleasant smelling as Jabba the Hutt's undies, Greenies is a wonderful product with very few drawbacks in my experience. Simple: duck happens to be a novel protein -- meaning that it is an unusual source of protein for animals who are susceptible to inflammatory responses to more, well, typically acquired protein sources. Our little Corgi, who has grown up scarfing down more food than I can believe a 23-pound dog could eat in three lifetimes, is particularly susceptible to flavors like beef and chicken and lamb, and can have a very bad reaction to them. But NOT Duck and Pea.So, if I have to deal with the smell, so be it.If you've never used these pill pockets, let me tell you that this is the simplest and best way to plop a pill (they also have capsule and tablet sizes) into a dog or cat's mouth that's commercially available. simply plop the pill inside and seal it off. Our pets love the products' tastes, and the troubles surrounding getting your pet to swallow medication are GONE! Gone, I tell you.Simply find the flavor your pet can't resist (they also have Chicken, Real Peanut Butter and Hickory Smoke). It's as easy as that.

The tablet pill pockets are way too small. I ...
The tablet pill pockets are way too small. I try to use capsule only and I purchased these accidentally. I'm cheap, so I split one capsule pill pocket between my three dogs.

Amazing Product!
I will admit that the smell is overwhelmingly stinky, However, since I am not the one that's eating them I don't care! These are amazing! My German Shepherd has been on antibiotics and other pills for months. It's been an unbelievable hassle trying to get her to swallow the pills. I wrapped them in peanut butter, cheese - anything I could think of, and she would often spit out the pills after eating the food product! She also has a bunch of allergies. When I saw these pill pockets at the Vet's office I was skeptical - especially with the $8.95 price tag. I decided I would take a chance and ordered them online and I am sure glad I did. When I first opened the bag the smell almost knocked me over, but knowing my dog and what she goes after in the yard I figured the stinkier the smell, the better chance I had of having her eat it. Yup, I was right! She LOVES of these! No more fighting with the dog at medication time :)

HOLDS THE PILL SECURELY AND IS SUGAR FREE!!
These are so good for the pet that needs to take pills and sticking your fingers in their mouth is not a good option for you. We fhave a fur baby on several, pills a day. He would figure out ways to spit the pills out. These were a blessing! Not only does he enjoy the taste, but the pills are secure inside the soft chew and he cannot separate the treat from the pill. These are more expensive than other treats, but Amazon provides a bulk amount that is cheaper than the stores. Also, this kind is sugar free, which is important to me.
