MeiKe Speed Light for Nikon
MEIKE Speed Light for Nikon:I purchased a MEIKE MK910 Speed Light. Itโs a Nikon SB910 knock off. It preforms as advertised. I am really loving this Speed Light. Some of the customer write upโs said they had some problems with some of the features. I have not. I was really impressed how well it worked with the Nikon CLS (creative lighting system). It worked perfectly when I set up my pop up flash as commander and set up with my SB700, SB600 and the MK910 as remote flash units. It worked perfectly. It also goes into slave mode with either TTL or manual. So it is very easy to use this Speed Light off camera. The repeat flash function is amazing. Works really well in either TTL of Manual. Its build quality is very good. Also, it is lighter than my SB750. The cost was 103 dollars compared with the price of the SB910 which is just a little under 600 dollars new. If there are any flaws I can live with them. I also like that the zoom range goes out to 180mm. My SB750 only zoom to 85mm. I really like the extra reach. Just thought some of you might want to take a look at this Speed Light. I think if my testing continues in the way it is so far, I am gonna buy a couple more ๏

Poor remote performance relative to Nikon
Seems to function OK on camera, but as a remote it is not good. Compared with my SB-900, it often fails to fire. It is very finicky about placement relative to the camera when used as an off camera remote triggered by the cameraโs built-in flash unit. Probably OK if just used in camera or connected with a cord.

For less than 1/3 the price...I couldn't be happier (so far).
I got this today after my SB-900 finally died on me. No idea what happened to the SB-900, but I figure I'd give this a shot since it was less than 1/3 the price of the SB-910. I shoot real estate, so all of my flashes are off camera. This works both as a master and a remote flawlessly so far. I've put it through all sorts of scenarios today and I haven't seen any difference in this compared to my old SB-900 in terms of function. I will update this review as time goes by and I have a chance to test it more. The main difference I notice is that it does have a cheaper feel to it, specifically the rotating wheel on the back. The menu is also significantly less substantial and the navigation is different, though it seems to get the job done as well as my SB-900 did.On camera, the flash yields consistently good results in Manual mode. I almost never use TTL, but that seemed to work well when tested also. I did notice that the focusing beam is slightly off-center and causes misses from time to time. This doesn't concern me as I am not a wedding or event photographer.I'm purchasing another as long as this one holds up over the next few weeks.

No complaints so far
So far so good! used it about 1/2 dozen times. Seems to have a decent build quality and used it along side its mentor the genuine Nikon SB910. Performance on par thus far. Battery life using Eneloop AA's has been impressive.

it gives me perfect lighting. I feel that this is in comparison ...
Tested it for few days now and I can tell that this flash is totally in sync with my NIkon D750 and D7100. At TTL, it gives me perfect lighting. I feel that this is in comparison with Yongnuo 568 for Nikon but I like the locking device connecting flash to the camera. It's more solid and tight. For the price, you can't go wrong.

Works great when it powers up...BUT
Yes, I have had both of my flashes for a few years, and I have no complaints. Now, both flashes do not work when I place fresh batteries in them. I have to turn the power on, and then hit/knock on the flash near the battery door until it turns on. I spoke to someone via email in China, and was told to send the flash to them, and I did. It has now been almost four(4) months, and I have not received any confirmation about it since. Maybe, I have gotten my use out of what I paid for the flash. But at least let me know what it going on. Again about having to hit/knock on the flash for it to make contact with the batteries. In the past, I may have thrown some good batteries away thinking that they were not good. So, I had to buy a battery meter to confirm dead batteries before tossing them away. SAD...I really like these units. I would purchase again, but the lack of not getting the flash back that I sent is preventing me from giving whomever is selling these my money for it. Even when they are selling for $20 less than a few years ago.

Seems too good to be true!
Does what it claims! Optical slave in S1 mode. HSS works with CLS and my Phottix Odin triggers. Works in hot shoe. Seems too good to be true, will need some time to determine durability, as I've only tested it around the house, not in the field.

I'm just starting with speed lights in my photography journey as I've been looking for an alternative to the expensive branded ones like (nikon SB 910) all I can say is that so far the experience have been great and I am very happy about my purchase. :)
