On my Nth pair, only knee pads I'll buy after trying them all
I have been using these pads since I discovered them in 2008 and have tried most every other decent knee pads (g form, 187, ProTec, Leatt, race face etc). These are the best protection and most comfortable. The dual strap enclosure is excellent and works better than the slip on style pads. Plenty of protection and most importantly comfortable enough to wear all day. You get what you pay for and these are worth it. They last a long time even with continued use, the straps/nylon/elastic will eventually wear out and they'll get gross with sweat but the pads themselves have not failed me at 40 years old. I've ruptured both bursae sacks in my knees and had countless injuries while not padded up. The kp22 are ok but these are definitely worth the extra $ and are way less bulky. Get em

Quality pads, but not for the vertically challenged.
I only gave these 3 stars because the fit did not work out for me. I followed the sizing chart supplied by the manufacturer. I think the chart is accurate if you are proportional to normal height for your weight or normal height for your age. I am 5'0" - 5'3" depending on how screwed up my neck and back are at the time I'm measuring. Either way, I have short legs and I am about 30 lbs over my healthy weight limit guidelines. So, basically - the bottom strap I had only about half an inch of the velcro strips matched up (had to pull tight to avoid slipping), but the top strap was really tough to get where the velcro lined up or had at least an inch pulled together (this strap i wasn't able to pull tight or have it so both strips of velcro were completely matched). So I can understand and deal with the sizing differences because my upper legs are thicker than my calves and shins - duh. After getting the pads strapped I noticed the tighter on the top strap was rolling down and it just wasn't very comfortable. Then came the time to work a little on crossovers and these pads were just too bulky for my short legs to make it work. That is not to say that the manufacturer was at fault. Average height individuals and those who are not short as well as overweight will most likely find these pads to be quality and work amazing. I just couldn't pull it off. The bulk is part of what protection you are paying for and it is worth every penny. Were it not for the short legs giving me nothing to work with for cross overs, I probably would have kept the pads despite the sizing issue because I am losing weight steadily since getting with the derby. Also, my skin doesn't like neoprene very much. I just find it doesn't breath well because not long after putting on a brace or these pads made with neoprene enclosures my skin will get hot, sweaty and start to itch or be irritated (longing for air). However, unless you have an allergy, you can work around this by wearing tights or thigh high socks. It's not a huge deal and I didn't downgrade the pads for it.If you are overweight but average height or tall - GET EM. If you are short, overweight or not, you should try them at a store or be prepared to possibly return these because of bulk.

Saves skin every time!
I wore these about 4 times before I broke my leg. They work well, and fit well. I do question if the lack of give in the lower strap stresses the leg below the knee.

EUC - not for EUC unicycles
I don't think these are a good fit if you crash on your side or twist when you fall. There is little side protection. The front protection is super heavy and high quality. Great for skating, but not EUC crashes where you twist. Motorcycle ones would be much better. I'm sending these back.

Good for skateboarding
As you would expect for skateboarding knee pads. A little light for what I bought them for - a 25 mph+ e-scooter. I'd recommend dirt/mountain bike pads for that application. But these are solid for skating/rollerblading, etc.

Awesome protection for urban skating
These are great for skating on the street.I am replacing old pads with new XL because my thighs grew and the L size is too tight. I am 6'1" 200lbs male. When you skate on the street things happen, you may miscalculate the jump etc. With these pads you can fall, get up and be still in the game without a scratch.

Great for Derby
I'm 4'11" ~120lbs. I am on my 2nd set in just a little over a year. I have found these knee pads to be the best combination of least bulky with most protection for me. I have no problems with crossovers with them. My knees are well protected with the tons of falls I take as a small jammer. I do agree with the other reviewer about the fit. The part of Velcro that matches up is way too short on the strap that goes around your calf. A teammate suggested to just add more Velcro to the rest of the strap. I grabbed the sticky back Velcro at the fabric store, cut about 6 inches of length & stuck it to the strap. It has held up fine, even though a couple washes. Much more comfortable without squeezing my calves now. This is the only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 and my only complaint about the KP Pro's.

Most comfortable, great protection, but I stuck with 187
Overall great for, most comfortable pad out there. I opted for the 187 pad only because of the flatter face plate... these a very continent with the butterfly and very secure... I use all trip 8 protective gear, so this was a tough call to make- overall happy with 187, if I want an open back/ butterfly I’d buy these

Product is very good and arrived quickly
Product is very good and arrived quickly. I ordered the large and have found them a little tight (I am a size 14 in women's clothes) but will be OK for just starting roller derby

Looks ok but overpriced.
I don't know how this can justify a CAD 70 + taxes price tag, as it just looks like it cost not even 10 dollars to make.Finish quality is really poor for the price this costs, obviously the margins are huge in protection gear industry. However they feel secure so I guess their job is done right.

Great!
Used them the first time for indoor skatepark and these are great. Product as expected seem to be of quality but time will tell.I wanted those for the way to attach them, they can easily be attached on top on pants/shorts without having to remove shoes.

Grandes
