Crescent CTK148MP 148-Piece Professional Tool Set

I've had a set like this since 2005. They've lasted very well and it's nice to have a case that stores, protects and allows carrying to work site. Crescent is a name with a long positive history and these tools do not disappoint. I bought these as a Father's Day gift and he really likes them. So, I would highly recommend this or either the smaller or larger sets if you want a decent set of sockets, screwdriver tips and wrenches that will serve your needs very well and last a long time and don't cost an arm and a leg.

I have purchased 3 of theses sets total and love the quality, fit and feel of the tools. My only complaint with the two sets I have purchased,prior to this, is the case does not stand up well to much use. The hinges are cracking and the case is not holding together. The case provides a system for great tool organization but before long I am going to have to buy either just the case or dump these tools in my main toolbox and then I no longer have a mobile tool set.

The product I received is not the one pictured. I purchased this exact set before so I am intimately familiar with the tools and build quality. These do not appear to be genuine crescent tools. Some of the tools appear to be corroded, others have build quality issues. The sockets are not captive in the case, so the case cannot be tipped without spilling the contents everywhere. Everything bears the Crescent logo but they look unlike any Crescent tool I have used before.

I bought this same set for myself several years ago and do most of the work on my own cars. I find that I can do the majority of the things that are needed for maintance on the cars. It's nice to have everything together in one case. You can tell if your missing tools when your project is done just by looking over the case to make sure all the spots are filled. I keep mine in the car trunk so its always handy. This was a good price so I just bought two more sets for my kids. This is a great tool set and I've been very happy with mine.

Crescent tools have served me and my family members well. Never has a tool broken during use, which is something at I have experenced several times. My only complained about this particular set was its shipping and sourcing. It came with a display-like plastic cover over the unfolded case. Upon arrival, we found that the case itself was broken. The damage could have been easily avoided if the shipper merely removed the display plastic (e.g. theft prevention) and closed the case. Instead ANTonline decided to leave it open and use a box ten times as large as necessary. My husband isn't a mechanic. This set was a Christmas gift three years ago and is still in great condition. Use is light, so not sure how it would hold up with more frequent use. I use the screwdrivers in the home for kids toys etc and like that they are magnetic tips.

This kit of high quality tools folds into a compact size and has nearly anything you need for general maintenance. The case is high impact and the tools generally stay put. Good value.

This set was purchased because it is identical to a set that I purchased 15 years ago and have had in the back of my SUV ever since. It has the tools I need for routine maintenance tasks on my vehicles, lawn mower, snow thrower, etc.I needed a toolbox for my boat, so I decided to purchase an "identical twin" to my existing box - that way I'd know exactly what I have with me at all times. The old set went in the boat and this new one is now in the SUV.I'm not a Snap-On guy - and these tools obviously aren't Snap-On quality - but the original set held up to a decade and a half of shade-tree mechanic duties and I see no reason that these will not do the same.
