Not bad.
I haven't gotten a chance to try this crank out yet, but it seems to be built very light and strong. I got the light blue (which is much more "blue" than pictured) and I have to agree with another user who complained about the finish chipping. I moved the chainring from the front of the spider to the back to help with some chainline problems and just from unscrewing the bolts (and carefully at that) I noticed some paint chipping. Same thing happened when I installed the pedals. It still gets 4 stars because the chipping is very minimal and seems to be an inherent problem with this type of finish, and because it is lightweight and a fair price. As of right now, I'd buy this item again, knowing what I know about it now. It's a very cool looking part and a great way to customize your own bike.Since Retrospec doesn't give very much info on the product, it's worth noting that THIS ITEM REQUIRES 9/16 PEDALS, NOT 1/2!

Just don't get it for the color.
The paint job isnt quite very good as in about a day you will start to notice a bit of chipping.I only bought this as a crank and didnt give a damn about the color. However in order to keep it from chipping further I sprayed with a couple of polyurethane coats. Now as far as crank performance, it is pretty good. I used this for my fixed gear bike incase you were wondering, and it's lasted this long (4months and counting). I am medium rider, not a hardcore rider so if your going to be mashing hills and riding like you stole it, i cant tell you if this crank would be for you.Remember properly mantain your bicycle, and thicken those crank nuts.

Don't let the picture fool you
Don't be deceived by the color on the picture, it is not a bright aqua as you see in the product picture, it's far more teal, with more green and a bit of a darker shade at that. That being said, it's still a great crank for my commuter bike. I got it cause it was just a couple of teeth bigger than what I already had on the bike (and needed a new crank). I was able to use the same chain after adjusting the rear wheel in a little bit. All in all, it works great.

Lasted me 4 years with heavy daily riding!
A lot of negative reviews, but I had this thing put on professionally and it lasted four years straight of heavy riding. I used to do sprints up the hills in central park every day almost, passing everybody and their 3,000 dollar bikes on my fixie, and this thing hasn't given me a single problem. 4 years strong. It just finally gave out on me but Ill still give it 5 stars for serving me so well for so long. It also looks sick although when looking at my attached photo for reference, keep in mind your bike will never look as cool as mine no matter what color you get.

Sub-par crankset with major design shortcomings.
When I initially received the item it did not include the left side crank arm. As expected, Amazon came through with their amazing customer service and are sending me the item again so that I may return the duplicate parts. The crank looks great and very simplistic and clean, which is exactly what I wanted from this item. Gears are perfect and are removable from the right crank arm with screws. There was a very minor chip in the paint, which I can live with but would prefer not to see in a brand new item. Chip was about 2mm x 2mm.The greatest, and what I think primary, flaw in this item is that the "green" color I received does not match the other "green" marked items in color from RetroSpec. I am specifically comparing their Deep V Rims of which I have a "green" pair. The wheels would be considered lime green, with this crankset probably considered standard green to dark green. Although I do not mind the contrast, I would have preferred the colors match perfectly from the same manufacturer.I will add a comment regarding functionality once I have installed the complete crankset and given it a good test ride.Over and out.EDIT:I have now had the crankset on my fixed gear bicycle for a few weeks and have put over 200 miles on it. Firstly, the chain-ring is not completely round, which results in a large sway in tension in the chain (not good if you're riding fixie). The chain-ring was also attached to the crank in an odd way. One of the bolts is hidden behind the crank-arm, making it difficult to tighten. The chain-ring was also attached too far from the frame to the crank-arm, so I switched it to the opposite side. The trouble is now the bolts keeping the chain-ring attached are not staying tight, as one has already loosened and fallen off (and is now somewhere in the middle of a road). I would give this product One Star, but that would be unfair as it is bad, but not terrible. Spend more money on a better product, this is my recommendation.

Great crankset! BUY IT.
It has only been a few weeks with this Retrospec crankset but so far so great! I bought this to replace my 52t setup. I have been riding ferociously down flat roads and I've been skidding as well. At first I had doubts about the stock chainring because it looked pretty flimsy, but it has been holding up pretty nicely. It spins fast and smooth and I haven't noticed any paint chips either. To my surprise, while I was waxing my bike, I spotted the SUGINO insignia engraved behind the crank arms!! An "XD2" was also engraved in the crank arms! This must be the SECRET behind its amazing quality! Oh Retrospec, you clever bastard, I just copped a Sugino XD-2 crankset for under 40 bucks :) :) :)

GREAT PURCHASE!
I bought this for my bike because I needed some cranks. The standard shipping was 6$ and it came in 1 business day! I'm very happy with the shipping. Anyways the cranks came and were in Great condition. They work great and I've had no problems. Only thing they didn't specify was what size of sprocket it comes with (it comes with a 46 tooth sprocket). I changed this however. Over all id recommend these cranks to anyone looking for some cheaper costing cranks, that function exceptionally well!

Junk. Do not buy.
Arrived with chips on it. The chainring bolts were not secure and stripped easily when tightened. Even with a 107.5 mm spindle, the chainline was off for a normal flipflop hub. Had to move the chainring to the inside and add washers to get the chainline even close to 42 mm, which caused a whole host of other issues. Garbage. This is the last Retrospec item I ever purchase.

Caro y pesado
Caros y pesados.Solo la biela es aluminio. El plato es acero y el precio es muy alto para esa calidad.

Don't expect much
The color is more aqua green then aqua blue as the pic may suggest. Lots of truing was needed, & if you plan on using the freewheel, order a new one.
