Life Fitness Club Series Elliptical Cross-Trainer

We were hesitant to spend this much on a piece of home fitness equipment, but it has turned out to be well worth it. I love using the professional Life Fitness Elliptical machines at the gym and I could not find another elliptical trainer with the same natural motion. A local fitness equipment store that carries Life Fitness equipment would not budge on the MSRP, and we would have had to pay tax and $200 for shipping. Amazon was running a promotion for $300 off of the MSRP with no tax and free shipping so I bought it here.The Life Fitness Club Series Elliptical is fantastic. Solid as a rock. It has a welded frame and is constructed the same as the professional model and the motion is the same. The difference is in the resistance system. The Life Fitness models in the health club create resistance by using some kind of electric generator that powers the electronics. The resistance on this model feels almost the same but is much quieter. The machine is very quiet all around but it would probably be disturing to others if not in a basement. This model requires plugging it in to an electric outlet. The heart rate sensors in the hand grips work great for me but not for my wife- she uses the wireless chest strap for HR.The Life Fitness Elliptical shipped by freight and arrived in about a week. A giant 18-wheeler delivered it to the end of my driveway. Make sure you have some help unloading the equipment- it weighs about 300lbs with the packaging. It was a struggle for my wife and me to carry the main part of the machine to the basement because it is awkward and bulky and weighs over 200lbs. It was fairly easy to assemble but it took me close to an hour. The core of the machine is already put together. You have to attach the upper arms and assemble and attach the center stack with the electronics and attach the plastic covers that make the machine look finished. It came with the Phillip's screw driver and giant Allen wrench that was needed for assembly.The best part of this machine is that I actually use it every day and am excited to use it. It functions the same as the health club version giving a great low-impact workout and I don't have to drive to the gym.

The machine is JUST like the ones I used in planet fitness before the pandemic closed everything. It is definitley used, but in good condition. Just some cosmetic dings. Unfortunately, the machine's lower computer board was damaged during shipping. I contacted the seller, Josh from fitness buys. He responded immediately. He sent me a new lower board within days, then he sent me a list of techs in my area who were specifically qualified to repair these machines. Tech came out, replaced the board and Josh reimbursed me the next day for the repair! Now the machine works just like the ones at my gym. Thanks Josh!

The media could not be loaded. This CSX Club Series Cross Trainer has "Whisperstride Technology" to "ensure nearly silent operation". Not so ... it is very loud. I and others tried it immediately on assembly and the noise was overwhelming from the rear drive. (I have another LF elliptical purchased new about 5 years ago. It is an excellent machine, very quiet and it's fine performance is the main reason I purchased this unit without a trial.) Anyway, I made a video of the CSX Club unit received and sent it to Life Fitness. They agreed it "sounded comparatively loud" and sent a tech to evaluate it. He also said it sounded loud but he couldn't find anything wrong. Nevertheless, he said the only thing he could do was to order new bearing units and replace the existing parts. Hurricane Irma intervened and the replacement was done this week. Unfortunately, while there may have been a marginal sound improvement after replacement, generally everyone said (including the tech) it was about the same (noisy). Maybe this is the best sound level LF can engineer on this model, however for a promise of "nearly silent operation" on a $4K machine, this is a truly disappointing product. I would have gladly kept the unit were it quiet or even reasonably so. BTW, the LF customer service staff were very responsive and helpful, the tech was timely and and knowledgeable and tried his best so this isn't an indictment of LF service which I thought quite efficient. However, if quiet operation is important to you, I strongly suggest you look elsewhere.

There is a software issue .. The heart rate chest monitor will stop functioning if the user touches ANY location where there is a hand monitor, which is supposed to be disconnected while using the chest strap.ie, the heart rate chest strap feedback programs and pretty useless.

I found this elliptical used for $1700 from Commercial Fitness Experts which is significantly less than the new price tag of $4300. It showed up on time and well secured to a pallet. I removed it from the shipping packaging and set it up in my house by myself with the help of furniture dollies, but I highly recommend at least 2 or more people helping because this elliptical is EXTREMELY heavy. I fired it up the next day and it worked perfectly. There's no squeaking, it doesn't wobble at all, and all programs work well. I'm very happy to find such a high quality elliptical for such a low price. The only drawback would be that the size and weight make it difficult to place in your home, but I knew that going in. I highly recommend this product.

I am loving this purchase! Not sure why but most of the fitness clubs I have been a member of in the past have moved away from this model. Everything I enjoyed about this machine is here. Machine is quiet and extremely smooth. In just the week since delivery I have lost ten pounds. I would highly recommend this elliptical to anyone looking for a complete body workout!

Works fine but bearing in rear need replacing. Matching making an awful sound. Should have spent extra and gotten a new one
