Tencent QQwatch Kids GPS Wrist Watch Phone with Real-time GPS Tracking / SOS Emergency Call (US Version, Blue)

I bought this watch for my son, and I'm very happy because I can know where he is and what is he doing when he is not with me. It is very accurate the location inside and outside. I bought a Metro PCS sim card and works perfectly. The signal while inside of his classroom is around 20% but from the app, in my phone, I can use all the watch's features with also 1% of the signal. I only give 3 stars because the quality design can be much better for this good technology. I had to put a tape in the bottom of the machine box because the place where the SIM card is, got soaked of sweating making that the SIM lost the contact and the watch lost the signal. After I stuck the tape this never happened again. After all, I'm happy with this watch because after doing a big and extensive research looking for the best and more affordable wearable GPS tracker with all of this features for my child QQwatch was the only best option out there I found. It has been pass more than a year since I bought it, and until today I am looking for another option and anything better I found. If the builder improves this defect I for sure will give to this watch 5 stars because it is doing a really good job.

Never worked! Returned it thinking this one was faulty, 2nd one didn’t work either!

Over all, the idea is good and my 10-year-old boy loves it , except the cartoon characters on the strap, too sad that they don't offer the extra strap with just pure color on it.From a software engineer's point of view, this product was released too early. The firmware is buggy and some of them are so obvious, and I don't know how did Tencent do the testing process. Please see the attached picture, it shows the temperature is -99C. Here are my 10 cents:1. Tencent developers, you are making software for yourself, not the public. You don't kow US people are more comfortable with Fahrenheit than Celsius? Even you don't know about it, but you learned there are two temperature units that people use in the world from the high school, right? Is giving an option to the user that allows us to choose whichever unit we like very hard?2. As an embedded device, there is no factory reset button built into the hardware, we have to contact the C/S Reps to do that. This is ridiculous!3. The tone when turning on/off is really annoying, and there is no way to turn it off.4. There is no ringtone option, which makes the watch a bit more stupid.5. The user manual is almost garbage. The language on the app is kind of Chines style English, which is called Chinglish, it makes people confused, not professional at all.6. The watch won't receive SMS from any phone in the contact. We have to send text message by the app.7. Highly depended on the app, what if you use blackberry, or a non-smart phone, the only thing you can do is making a phone call to the watch. The app can't get network connection on my Blackberry Passport running the latest BBOS10, I have to carry 2 phones in order to send my son text messages.8. There is only one entry allowed in alarm setting, are you making a smart watch?9. 2G is outdated technology, and will be discontinued by 2017 in Canada and most of the rest of world. Your EU/US version won't last long. Were you making this decision based on the 2G availability in China? What a Joke!10. Positioning is totally inaccurate. Even my old $90 cellphone has better performance.Will keep you posted...

★ from smsdr on July 26, 2016only way to use phone is with Tmobile costly data plan, minimum $40/month--for a child's wristwatch phone!there's no live tech support, tho they do respond to emails sort of quickly. But ONLY T-mobile, and ONLY a data plan (minimum $40/month) will work with this phone. We have a *** for our other grandchild, & their tech support is horrible, but the monthly ***cost is $15. *** will only offer unlimited talk/text/data for the tencent qq watch (or any other pre- or post-paid plan). I'd expect my 6 year old grandson to use this phone to call us, to be called, & to be tracked w GPS. He can't read yet, so we won't text him.So we're canceling the Tmobile contract, returning the sim card, returning the phone...If there were a cheaper plan (less than $20/mo, eg) we'd keep it...

Works Great!

I could not get it to work with TMobile SIM card. After hours on the phone, getting hung up on and giving my social security number to several different people and they hung up on me too I gave up and returned an otherwise beautiful watch.
