AMAZING!
These tents are awesome! I'm 6'3" and 290 lbs and I fit perfectly in this tent. If I lay on my side, my shoulder barely rubs the top of tent. Looked all over for an easy setup, light tent that would fit me. Quality material and heavy duty zippers. If I had to say anything negative, it would only be the size of it packed up. But hey, small price to pay for an absolutely amazing product. NOT for backpackers but perfect for Side By Side or ATV hunters that go out for multi day hunts or trips. If you are one of those as I am, get this! You won't regret it. Easy setup, tear down, only takes minutes. LOVE,LOVE,LOVE!

Awesome for overlanding!
First of all, you need to know what kind of tent this is before you buy one. These swags are basically modern versions of the old timey cowboy bed rolls. It has an integrated pvc ground sheet and a mattress inside. Not only that, they’re designed to keep your sleeping bag/bedding inside so it can all be rolled up together saving a lot of time breaking down your camp. These are not designed to be used for anything but car camping and overlanding. Don’t even think of backpacking with this. When rolled up it’s even possibly too big to be strapped to a motorcycle. It will be too big for the trunks of many compact cars. It is made out of canvas, not the ultralight materials modern backpacking tents are made from. These tents are very popular for overlanding in Australia so it’s no surprise that this particular model is based on an Australian design, called the Oztrail Mitchell Discovery swag. If you want to research this swag on YouTube, you can search for videos of that swag also and see many reviews. This swag as it ships is not free standing but Kodiak Canvas does offer a center support pole (part #100260) that you can order directly from them that seats into grommets on either end of the swag making it free standing. Oztrail also sells this center support pole in a slightly different design, but it should work with this tent as well. First impressions after receiving this Kodiak Canvas swag are very good. I have slept in it about 3 nights so far, and I honestly love using it. It is plenty wide for me at 5’11”/180lbs. Claustrophobia can be an issue but opening the windows to allow air flow really helps to alleviate this. I’ve been rained on a few times but had no issues with leaking. It does trap a fair amount of heat in so you won’t need a cold weather bag in this if you’re camping in the heat of summer. The mattress is pretty comfortable but if you’re a side sleeper you may need a little more padding. Fit and finish are excellent. I haven’t found any manufacturing flaws. I only have a couple minor misgivings about the design of this swag. The center pole is held in place with several Velcro tabs which are a little fiddly. I would’ve probably preferred a few canvas loops for the pole to go through, or even plastic hooks. The pvc shoe mat is thicker than what you might expect in the pictures, which is nice. But I think if this was upgraded to a dry bag, that would be a huge bonus so you don’t have to store muddy shoes inside your swag on a rainy night. I put my shoes under it and then a rock on it so the breeze doesn’t blow it off them. It really makes sense for that to be a dry bag to keep your shoes dry and to keep scorpions and spiders from crawling inside them at night. One tip I have is that you’ll likely be changing your clothes at your car, so bring a small carpet sample or mat to stand on while changing. It’s really too cramped inside to do a full wardrobe change. Aside from that I’m very pleased with this purchase and love using it.

This is a GREAT bedroll tent
Not much information out there on these but if you’re looking for an easy and durable bedroll “swag” style tent, this is a perfect setup. The only recommendation I have it purchasing these additional items separately off their website“Tension Pole” (SKU: 100260)30° rectangular sleeping bag (SKU: 3444)The tension bar will allow you to use the tent without driving tension stakes and guide ropes. The sleeping bag rolls up with the entire unit and is super comfortable.I used this unit on a 6 day fishing/camping trip and got very familiar with the process. Assembly and disassembly is easy and with the additional spreader/tension pole it makes this process faster to setup. The all weather canvas held up well to wind, rain and snow! We had weather conditions between 15° and 50° on this trip. Even with hours of rain, followed by a few inches of snow, this tent kept me dry and warm on the one bad weather night of our trip. The 30° kodiak canvas brand sleeping bag retained heat and was super comfortable to sleep in. This tent was easy to dry out, clean and pack back away after the trip. I would say this tent fully rolled up is too large to pack-in or to hike into a camp spot with but it’s a great truck/dispersed camping tent. I will be getting plenty of use out of this Kodiak Canvas Swag Tent!

Great mobile base unit
l think it's great. I do quite a lot of camping and trekking and bought this primarily because I'd always wanted to be able to sleep under the stars whilst being free from wee crawly beasties and this tent is just the job. It's a fair weight and pack size is quite large so can only be used within reasonable proximity to a vehicle or base, but that's what I bought it for. I have another lightweight tent for walking and cycling. It's very sturdy and robust, I hope it will provide many years camping under the stars. If if you want to save on space in the car you can leave the mattress behind and put an inflatable in instead, but the mattress it comes with is fine and very comfortable. There's loads of room inside, I'm 5'11'' and have heaps of room lengthwise and width wise. I would say it's a bit of luxury and the degree of openness is very flexible with lots of vents and options, which is great if it's a hot night and conversely if it's chilly you can close it all in with the thick canvas and it's nice and cosy.I had it shipped to the UK and must say the shipping service was fantastic, very fast and efficient and I thought the additional cost of shipping reasonable.

Second thoughts…
The system works, but I agree with another reviewer that the system feels like they made design choices that leave the customer feeling underwhelmed. Adding a top loop for the spreader bar, which they sell, would have been very nice and handy…I would even say necessary. The fact that the middle bar is smack-dab in your way when entering or exiting the system seems like a mild inconvenience until you try to deal with it at night in a rainstorm. Lastly, why oh why would the zipper stop at the feet so you cannot lift the canvas into a storm flap?
